The Chargers down by 3 early in the 3rd quarter. They went for it on 4th and 1.5 from their own 14. Yes their own 14. They got stuffed. Turnover on downs. Nuts.

The play call and analytics weren't worse though. That wasn't even comparable. I mean one was for the SB though. The actual play call wasn't worse. The result was worse. Lynch could have easily got stuffed.

The fourth down conversion rate in the NFL is better than 60%. It might be closer to 70% for less than 2 yards. It's a hero of zero move for sure, but the odds were actually on the hero side.

Yeah, but it was idiotic. There is no hero move there. You can't win the game there, but you can lose the game there. They lost by 3. That was a the difference. There is a reason all of the great coaches in NFL history would never do that. You don't go for it on your own 14 yard line.

Forgot to add. Not only did they get stuffed running up the middle, they lost a half a yard. AT least get creative. Maybe use your QB's legs. He is a good runner.
