Parks, on the OL.

I'll link it below. But, just one comment that I thought of.
Parks talked about having depth. He talked about having a second team that "we can win with."
Way back before some of y'all were born, Brad Scott was the OL coach at FSU. Bobby's plan was to have every unit be two deep. He would often substitute one unit for an entire series. (WR, OL, RB, DL, LB, DB).
This was back in the late 80's early 90s. Brad, as the start of the 14 straight years ranked top 4, was just getting started, had a rotation of "1st unit plays first 2 series, 2nd unit plays the third. Repeat."
I doubt that Austin will try to do that this year, but I wonder how many guys he will have confidence in thinking they can go in and not have a noticeable drop-off. 8? 9? Maybe even 10?

In his original presser, Dabo stated he had 7-8 on the OL who were starter level.

I hope we have at least 5 that are starter worthy.***

The talent and depth we had in the 90s was unbelievable. Bobby would say a few things about the necessity for quality depth.
1. You win next year's championship this year. You gotta play those guys this year if you wanna win next year.
2. Coaches know the best way to motivate players is playing time. Players gotta know that the coach ain't afraid to bench them because the guy right behind him is just as good.

When CU was rolling from '12-'19 Dabo had 2nd teamers in by the 3rd quarter and one of this sons in the 4th. Same model as Bobby. Built depth and experience and was a great recruiting tool. Even if experienced vets were on the roster recruits knew they'd still get snaps.

And THIS has been one of the downsides of DJ at qb where we haven’t blown the crappy teams out.

I feel like at least when it comes to the OL; Clemson is in a very good spot. Marcus Tate, Tristan Leigh, Blake Miller are a couple of examples of players who had to play early and often. It's learning the game under the harshest conditions and getting better as a result of it.
The fact we had to play such a young OL in 2021 and one Freshman last year(Miller) is going to bode well for us! The scheme is only going to help; as the tempo and ability to get the ball out of the QB's hands quicker will only help.
I've no idea where all the talk about "no depth at OL is coming from". Those people haven't looked at the snaps the players on the roster have taken apparently. Best part about it; we have some Freshmen on campus this year who if a starter isn't pushing for perfection enough; could end up taking snaps from them. The two from Texas is who I have in mind(Ian Reed and Harris Sewell). Both, high-star players and both come in with bodies ahead of their years!
Mitchell Mayes I think is ready to contribute as well. We are good in this area; far better than we have been over the last two seasons.
