Can someone give me the lowdown on visiting Atlanta?

My wife and I are going to the game and staying at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly. Whats our best bet for getting to the game. I know some have said Marta but I was wondering what other options there are. Any other suggestions other than about transportation are welcome! Go Tigers!

Parking at MARTA stations?

I was thinking of taking MARTA too, although I'll be traveling from Clemson on gameday. I was planning on parking at the Chamblee or Doraville station and riding in to the game. Has anybody parked there? How fast does the lot fill?

Going North and South on Marta is not bad

Going East west is more a crap shoot. I used to live in Atlanta and would occasionally take Marta to the airport and back. Hell, early in the morning on weekdays, rich kids are riding Marta from the Northside of town to Woodward Academy in College Park.

Going east to west is a bit crazier since you get Bankhead and Vine City which is rougher.

Marta is really packed after a game, but it's kinda cool because it's all Clemson/Auburn people and the locals don't know what to do. It's kinda funny. I park at Doraville when I go, although if you're not drinking it may be more enjoyable to drive all the way down and pay the extra $15 for parking if you have enough people in the car.
