Jacoby and Rex could make trips to Clemson together. I really hope he gets another shot. Without the injuries he could be a star.

in the WR corps that caught a ball last year go to another team. Is playing with Newton so bad that they are all running for other teams?

but the panthers do a terrible job of keeping a talented line up together, or replacing good players that leave.

not to mention Smith would have been a great slot receiver if they would have contracted him. WR has been a problem for us since Muhammad left years ago. Smith was a one man show and now it's a no man show.

Smith committed and loves the Panthers so that I'm sure he would have taken a paycut, accept a situational position or moved to just the slot role so that they could have brought in Ford who would have add more speed to the receiver corp and special team. Add another over the top or deep threat WR for the boundaries. Could have add Ford into the offensive running game which was already decent last year. What going on in Charlote. The organization is not going broke. Bring in some Tigers locals and watch the attendant grow. We support out Tigers no matter where they go. Especially when they are playing just around the corner or just up the road.

Gettleman is purging the system
Mar 17, 2014, 9:18 PM

The panthers are in one of the worst financial situations in the league and the GM is working on that first. Not just trying to throw money at a problem and make it go away a la the cowboys or US Goverment. The panthers had one of the worst run defense in the NFL before our last draft now we have one of the best. This past year we had one of the worst WR outputs in the NFL, including the beloved Smith. With a very strong WR upcoming the panther fans should be very thankful that they finally have a GM that has a long term vision.

I hope you are right. However, there will be plenty of growing pains. NFL fans gets impatient alot faster than the majority of the college football fans. I get because it's a high dollar expense venue.
