ACC grant of rights

Aug 14, 2021, 9:40 AM

There is zero chance Clemson leaves the ACC unless the ACC dissolves. That’s it. Period. All of Clemsons TV revenue until 2036?? Nope. Too much to give up. Stop dreaming about a soft landing in the SEC. not happening. Hope the ACC and Big 10 can work something out. Gotta be honest, doesn’t sound like the kind of move that will raise the kind of cash that will keep clemson relevant in the long term in terms of revenue. Clemson deserves better. Hope our conference can get their act together and go make a move that is worthy of discussion.

That's Why We Have Lawyers

When this deal was struck up college football didn't have NIL, transfer portal, essentially free agency and a dissolving of the Big 12.

Since the contract is not in the public domain, who knows what type of language or loopholes exist to address changes to college football.

Maybe teams can't break the contract...maybe they can

What contract is EVER cut and dry?

There are ALWAYS loopholes. Lawyers live off of them.

Doubt it.. Maryland had lawyers too

But you know what? They paid anyway. Ole swoffy tightened the screws since then. Love the optimism, but clemson leaving the ACC is just not an option.

Exactly!

It happens every year and in many different areas! If there is enough: "CAUSE" to justify modification then someone will step in and listen. once that happens - there is a chance.

For me though the landing spot wouldn't be the SE-she. A football deal only with some Pac 12 and Big 12 teams would be better!
Football isn't like wimins volleyball or field hockey or mens basketball or baseball or debate club. You play once a week and the whole traveling thing to another coast possibly could be mitigated a bit. You couldn't do it for all the before mentioned sports because of the travel during the week. Though how does Oregon and Arizona St. currently do it? Those two schools though on the same coast aren't exactly close.

A football only deal with the Pac-12 and Big 12? The three lowest revenue generating conferences. Terrible idea
