I mean call himself or someone else a 'Foodie'. Was listening to the morning news show and one of the men called himself a 'Foodie'. It just screams doofus.

It is run, and I think owned by a Frenchmen. Plus, they could call themselves Le Turd and I would go. Probably going to get the Beef Bourguignon for Good Friday dinner.

Dude is a bad ### French chef. They make it and you just warm it in the crockpot. If you're in Charlotte, A) t-mell me and I'll take you to the good wine spots B) hit this place up. A few really good French places around here.

Along the same lines you can add to that when otherwise straight men stopped going to bars and started going to “gastropubs”.
The first bar owner to use that term should have been bankrupt and out of business within a month.

It’s masculine to appreciate the culinary arts and good food. It’s not masculine to call yourself a “foodie” or to seek out a “gastropub”.
Much like it’s masculine to like dogs. It’s not masculine to call them your “fur babies”.

I think you'll get more power and accuracy by kicking upward with a strong plant foot than by leaping into the air and hoping your aim is good.

Yeah, you know who else loves food? Every single living creature on the planet.
Agree with the stupidity of "gastropub". Also, calling bartenders "mixologists". No. You're a bartender.

Gonna hafta brag on my nephew a lil bit. Very cool youngin. He's about to graduate The University of the South. Even at 21 he appreciates wine and fine food, but no pretense about this young man. He'll probably end up going to law school like his Dad, but he wants to go out west and do some work that will get his hands dirty. Proud of him.

My kids HS friend groups and they all usually validate the stereotypes of the Sewanee kids I went to high school with: Paying $55k/year and doing tons of coke but playing blue collar hero because they wear flannel and didn’t go to vandy.

It’s an overreaction against the crap food we were fed when we were kids. Kids who grew up in the 90’s aren’t all exactly the same- some of us had N64, some PlayStation. Some had Nickelodeon, others watched CW or Disney Channel. But what we all have in common are the frozen dinners, lunchables, canned soups, sugary drinks in plastic bottles, sodas, fruit snacks, and stouffers meals that we grew up on. I can barely stand the smell of fast food or anything out of a package now. My parents are both 64, neither of them know how to cook. God love her, my mom at least tried while we were kids.

kept us both busy and time we had for the kids was not going to be used cooking.
My sons come over to eat now and asked why I did not make food like this when they were young. LOL.

You always smell gas and exhaust through the open front door when one of the numerous motorcycles parked at the front leaves. Rachel, Steve, and Porter are fine mixologists, because they never mix up my Coors Banquet for Coors Light. And you better eat some foodies before you go, because the closest thing they serve to cuisine is a big plate of eatshitanddie if you #### the staff off. You might actually see some pretentious Gen Z or millennial types in the back shooting pool, but they know better than to mingle with the old-timers up front by the band.

Had kinda planned on it, Tupelo Crush from Winston-Salem is playing and they do a lot of cool alt-country stuff like Wilco, Son Volt, Uncle Tupelo, Whikeytown, etc. I'd love to see that, but I also need to get my Mazda cleaned up to sell and hit the grocery. Crappy weather slowed me down on getting what I wanted to get done today, so we'll see how it all shakes out. I'd say 50-50 at this point, odds may change if I get toasty at Supper Club tonight

Not 100 on it, but I may hit that up tomorrow. Most of my Thirsty Beaver experience is from stopping by on Saturday walkabouts.
