The Upton brothers have two hits between them

In 27 at-bats. But that's only two less than the number of runs the Braves have given up as a team so far. Braves starters have pitched 18.2 consecutive scoreless innings, including David Hale's five goose-eggs so far today.

One of them decided not to field a ball today

Nearly cost the Braves a run. From what I saw, the ball wasn't lodged under the padding to the extent that it would've impeded Upton from actually picking it up. When he finally did go pick it up, he easily got it out. But I guess the reasoning is that he couldn't have known that when he threw his hands up.

If the ball sticks, immediately throw your hands up and call the ball dead. The umpires should get the call right, and they did.

"easily got it out"

That has no bearing on whether a ball is in play or not. If the ball is lodged, no matter how easy it may be to get out, it is out of play.

of the Braves' offense through four games.
They haven't needed much, considering the great start the staff is off to.
