I'm not going to say he's bad or anything like that and maybe its just me, but he just really seems like a one trick pony to me. I mean after our game, they acted like he put up 40 pts and 500 yards of offense, when it was literally 2 busted plays in the entire game from not being able to tackle. 17 total points and only 10 though 59 mins, then followed that up with only 17 against Illinois. He had 2,500 yrds 18 TD and 7 Ints on the season with 600+ yrds rushing and 7 TDs.(Good, not great) To me it was more their defense and crazy luck go their way in a lot of games (Reviews, unforced fumbles..etc), even a clear TD not given to ILL in that game that led to a fumble right after. I just don't buy the hype of him being this crazy Heisman and All American type candidate and feel like teams will start to gameplan around that and make him when through the air. They did lose a ton on defense this year along with Josh Simon and Rocket Sanders on offense. And why even recruit Air Noland from the portal?

I’ve been saying the same about Sellars - he’s a good QB, but last season results don’t equal the hype he’s getting. I think that’s a separate statement from the 2 gifts we gave them. We can point out what looks like excessive hype and it doesn’t mean as far as the rivalry.

like it doesn't matter. Sure, in the big picture it didn't matter since we made the CFP regardless, but then we have to listen to the idiotic beak flapping all year. The coaches must be insulated from that or just consoled with their enormous bank accounts. But for fans, it stinks.

Yeahh and it takes everything under the sun to go right for them just to squeak out 1-3 pt wins. We all know how the outcome looks when Clemson is firing on all cylinders without the mental mistakes.

You make it sound like 2 of the last 3 is bad. Won't you extend those games out a few more years and then look at win loss totals. Yes, we want to be them every year, but it's not going to happen. Clemson will continue to overall beat Carolina's a++, but we have to be realistic to know that it may go back and forth some years. A streak starts and then it ends. Back to square one. Take it as it comes and know that we overall own the lamecocks!!

Well hes definitely better than 90% of the other P4 QBs so cant really get upset hes receiving some praise. If he makes a leap next season like Cade did last season he will be the #1 pick since he has ideal measurables for an NFL QB.

This. People don’t realize that their defense won in that game. Their defense won them most games last year. I mean, they are definitely not a non-win team without their defense. They’re more like a 6-6 team. I think that D gets run through this season and Sellers is going to have to carry the team on his back.
8 wins is their ceiling if Seller plays Great and improves as a passer.

Cam Newton is a poor comparison.
For me unless he can prove to be able to sit back and deliver darts I don’t think he’ll be successful in the NFL.
I also think he gets exposed this season. The boy wants to run. Watch him. That’s his bread and butter and these other teams will start to game plan for that.

He only had the chance to embarrass us because the offense didn't do its job in that game. If they were driving in the final 2 mins of the game with only 10 points on the board, that game should've been over.

If he plays like he did against Illinois, he is not going to be a huge factor in most of their games. If he plays like he did against us then teams need to be worried. First he is going to have to eliminate silly turnovers, which I am not sure he has proved he can do yet.

Sellers is a good QB if he progresses and learns to throw the ball in tight windows. Right now he is a RB playing QB that can extend plays and either finds a wide open receiver or tucks it and runs. Go back and watch his film if you want and you will see he can not or is scared to put the ball into tight coverage. If he wants to play in the NFL he will need to learn to do that. Teams will game plan this year to keep him contained running the football and we will see how good he is at passing which I don't think he is unless he progresses as a passer.

The answer is to get him on the ground with tackling fundamentals. Our guys were trying to tackle him high. Get those knees a couple times. He will be hesitant to take off.

He did not single handedly beat Clemson. Their defense was very good and our offense just did not produce like we did most of the year. Our defense made him look better than he should have looked. Taking nothing away from him, as he is an outstanding athlete.
