It's highly variable, but typically booking a flight on Sunday or Saturday for a flight departing on Thursday or Friday is cheaper, but that's not always the case.
If you like the price, go ahead and book it.

didn't want to risk messing around and seeing another jump later. We are still pretty far out from the trip. I'll be mad if oil really does tank and the prices drop.

Prolly gonna fly into Vegas and outta Phoenix.
I just assume it will be expensive like everything else these days, and I refuse to fly Frontier or Spirit.

Flying out of Greenville was nuts $300+ more per person. We've got 3 so gas to Atlanta and parking will be a better option.
It really stinks having to work around the PTO of 2 other people. Going for an actual weekend is really driving up the price.

all costs. I wasn't paying close enough attention when I booked the original plans. The flight out there was on Frontier. This was for June 2020, back when we'd get update every few days on if stuff was going to open back up. 10 days before the trip we were told we'd be among the homeless if we did go. Delta gave us the credits with NO fight at all. Frontier wanted to fight tooth and nail. Finally some after some behavior that I'm not exactly proud of, they gave us credits too.
Due to next to no demand at the time, we turned those 1 way Frontier tickets into round trip to Iowa. Frontier then went off and just canceled that but we did get all our money back.

on my computer and book from our server in Georgia. I swear if you look up the same flight too much, it changes the price upwards.
