OT: If something happened similar to PSU at Clemson, how

would your giving to the program/school change?
One of the things I found most intriguing about the whole situation was the fact that Giving didn't derease at PSU, some have reported it as increasing this year.
Would you as a Clemson fan try and support your school through the hardship by giving the same/more than before, or would you hold off/eliminate your giving for a time (whether it be IPTAY or going to games) in order to show your university this is not something you approve of?
My giving would [Results]
|
|
Increase to support my program through hard time |
|
Stay the same, the sins of the administration does not affect how much I care about the program |
|
Decrease for a couple years, I can't support a program that would let something like this go on, even if there is no one involved anymore. |
|
Eliminate my giving forever, and stop supporting Clemson as an athletic instutution(not necessarily as an Academic one though) |

going up?
He's a fine Clemson man that did our school right and has always been loyal to the cause. We should celebrate this champion properly, immortalized outside the stadium in front of Gate 1.
The timing couldn't be better.

Right on!!! At least most of us wouldn't punish the school b/c of a few very very stupid stupid men. I heard once said that common sense wasn't so common any more. Common sense prevailed in this instance.

you know as sad is it may seem that jo pa could've prevented more and lou freeh may have talked to all the "right" people to support his claim the best thing we can do as "a" people is let it go , just let it go , read the book of ecclesiasties gossip and he said she said doesn't help anything ............ find the victims and help them and shut up

PSU really begs the question "who is the school?"
Jul 16, 2012, 9:19 PM

Rather than hypothesize about Clemson, let's pretend we're PSU alumni. What would I do?
Once I was convinced that everyone who had even an inkling of what was going on with Sandusky was fired, including any board members, I would increase my donations to keep the school from dying. Until I was satisfied with that I would withhold my contributions.
I know a few PSU alumni who have backed JoPa and the AD even when they didn't know the truth - and now that most of the truth is out they still are backing JoPa. That is what is wrong with that school. The leadership was in denial and apparently so are some of their alumni.

I have a good friend who is a PSU alum who admits to deifying JoPa. He is crushed. Can't even read the articles on it.
We don't even talk about it at all.

Agree w/ Paternos; idea of Joe "shielding" anyone is pure BS

I think the Admins "heard" there was some sort of investigation back in 1998, but law enforcement wouldn't have released details to an open investigation. But they had heard the rumors to be itchy & suspicious, but probably were in denial over the rumors when Law Enforcemnt failed to act on anything. Joe was like 75 at the time, busy fighting off his jealous PSU skeptics who wanted him to retire & being alittle out of touch. I think the McQueary incident is where they screwed up; the admins should have talked to Law Enforcement, even if they were in denial because Law Enforcement never revealed anything conclusive.
Which brings me to the same question I keep coming to:
If LE had already had been tipped off or knew something, why didn't they do something or anything? Surveillance, interviews, depositions? Social services? Where was Law Enforcement in all of this if they supposedly already knew in 1998 (14 years before the indictment).

and had more power than anyone else. They were going to turn Sandusky in and Paterno talked them out of it. He lied to the grand jury, and while that was going on he renegotiated his retirement package. Paterno is scum!
