His name is everywhere. Around half of us probably think he will be the starter. We are super excited for him, but we are also super excited for Trevor Lawrence. And lots of people are excited about Kelly Bryant and Zerrick Cooper and Chase Brice....

senior season to like 98th overall and behind Stephen Garcia in the rankings.
Unfortunately, that luck and momentum followed him to Tiger Town. I really thought that dude was going to be special.

Because he's young against a veteran who has been in the system for a while. Next year we have the highest rated recruit in Clemson history who happens to be a QB as well and is expected to take over nearly immediately.

The logic used in this post doesn't make much sense....
You expect Hunter Johnson to ride the pine behind a career backup but Trevor Lawrence to start immediately?
Hunter Johnson is a better fit for our offense than Lawrence just FYI....

If Hunter would have came in the year after Deshaun he would have been the "career backup". That term should be used very loosely. None of these guys would have played over the best player in the history of the school

you can't quite say that.. Deshaun was here three years, hunter could have had 2 years of starting. And also, as a more highly rated player, he has plenty of potential to surpass what Deshaun did.

I'm just saying if Hunter came when Kelly came he would have zero years as a starter going into this year.
To call Kelly a career backup is true but it has to be viewed in the correct context. Hunter would have been that same "career backup" going into this year had he arrived when Bryant did

When you say better fit for our system, what do you mean exactly? I think TL will excel anywhere...he looks to be a superb talent. If the coaches thought he wasn't the right QB for us, they wouldn't have offered.
Also, I feel virtually every QB is being talked about with Cooper, Isreal, and Brice a bit less so than Bryant, Hunter, and future star Lawrence.

TL has wheels and will do fine running, but you'll probably wish that that he ran less after you see the arm talent.

I'm also excited about the QB situation as a whole. None of them will be DW4 but if our defense maximizes their potential we will not need them to be. Listen if HJ is the QB great. I believe we will be in good hands but if someone beats him out that says a lot about that QB in my book.

Sirriusly, a lot of folks were already locked down with Cooper this year, but most are looking past him to Trevor Lawrence who has the added prestige of being ranked #1 overall. As if it's a given that the #1 overall/#1 QB will be a better college QB than the #30 overall/#1 QB.

I wouldn't say nobody is talking about him. But, once you get on the field you can forget about high school ratings. Willie Simmons was rated WAY higher than Charlie Whitehurst. Whitehurst was barely a three star. Besides that, every qb on Clemson's roster was highly rated.

I just can't picture in my head of him being better than DW4 as a true freshman. But if he is, he will have the starting QB job before our 3d game. And that will mean that Auburn beat us down bc we couldn't match TDs with them. Or that we had to beat Auburn with many field goals....
