A little inside on Corey Crawford...
Dec 31, 2013, 5:20 PM
|
|
He's got a close relative that works and lives here middle GA...she maintains he's NFL bound and made that decision a while ago. She's a very credible person.
You may ask who am I to know this? Well I'm the same person who posted that Robinson was going to UF sourcing my good buddy that worked on the peach county coaching staff.

Because they play different positions?

Crawford plays on the strong side, and is tasked with holding the line, stuffing the right tackle, and playing strong in the run game. Any sacks are a plus.
Lawson plays on the weak side and rushes the passer.

I agree. Crawford has been good, but not that good.

Does he already have his degree?
IF NOT, he must not like school much, either.
Thing is, they are so set up to succeed academically that to walk away from that is really unfortunate. From the benefits of Vickery Hall to not having even more distractions that come with being older, now is the best time for education.

Ask your Peach County coaching buddy how Bud feels now about about his decision to be a Gator

3 starters in Lawson, Vic, and Crawford and Dabo said seniority wins in that situation. I remember reading that article either here or on TI...

If this is true (and I'm pretty skeptical)

Corey Crawford is making a huge mistake Unless his family is literally living in a box somewhere right now and requires immediate financial stability, this is not a good decision. He has no hype and would be lucky to go in one of the mid-rounds. Not to say he's a bad player, but he's going to need another year to make a name for himself. We're losing a lot of offensive weapons next year and will have to rely on our defense a bit more than usual. If Clemson's defense is good again next year, they'll have a lot of hype around them and Crawford will be no different.
I think Vic should come back too, but I could SOMEWHAT understand if he left (even though I don't recommend it). Crawford, however, needs to stay in school if he wants to be making more money.
