Only thing I hate more than a racist, murderer, terrorist is

About the only thing I hate more than a racist, murderer, terrorist is a politically correct activist.
The whole politically correct crusade is so contrived, manipulating and disingenuous that it makes many of us anti-terrorist types do exactly the opposite of what those mush brained terrorist want. Ifthey want something then I am automatically opposed it out of sheer disdain for that whole cult like movement.
Pick the faux outrage of the day by these so called "concerned" folk and almost every single time it is a hyped up #### of 'malcontentism' by those who are looking for some excuse to be outraged. Well they are my #1 excuse for outrage, so we even out. I will see your rage and raise you 10!
Activists targeting of all things Clemson! Trying to paint Clemson as racist or Clemson football as a Christian proselytizing operation really deserves complete mocking and utter disdain. Just like the state of SC flying the confederate flag, do not bend, do to yield, do not waiver. To do so enables such nonsense to be fueled for more and more faux politically correct outrage. Enough! Tell the cry baby, politically correct terrorists to go home and suck on their pacifier.
Where does this nonsense end?

Couldn't agree more. The next thing we are going to have on campus are Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton...when that happens, I'm pretty sure I'm going to puke.

Ah yes you hate someone with a political view that you disagree with more than people who take human life. Your moral compass, is malfunctioning.

Political correctness ultimately takes more lives

In the long run. See Germany and the USSR as examples. It is groupthink and it is dangerous. If you don't agree, then you are wrong, wrong, wrong! You must be made to care!
Sorry, but no way as long as I am alive will I be badgered into compliance. I as well as many Americans will fight this political correctness crusade nonsense to the grave!

Uhhhhhhhhh. I don't think we use political correctness in the same manner.
As far as I understand the term, Germany and the U.S.S.R. were very very far from being politically correct. In fact, it would hard for them to have been less politically correct.
But, PC is a red herring. I think some things can be overblown. The Cripmas thing for example. The Tillman Hall issue has noting to do with political correctness.

It is not political correctness.

You remind me of that scene in the Holy Grail who says "Let's not bicker and argue over who killed who." That's funny because killing people is a serious offense. None more serious.
If someone today killed a bunch of people and then gave money to Clemson, would you be ok naming a building after the person? Would it be political correctness to argue against naming a building after the person? How does the passage of time really change that?
The issue is who in life do we want to honor--people who deserve to be honored or people who don't.

Because it speaks to a precursor mindset that ultimately results in groupthink. Groupthink is very dangerous indeed.
In this case, we are talking about something that happened over 100 years ago in a different era and by no one living today. To try and use a publicity stunt to strong arm an opinion of a few onto everyone. This kind of political correctness really should be thwarted at every turn, even if you agree with the facts they are arguing. Then in 3-5 years, the building could be renamed without any demanded action. Just done as a matter of course.
It really bugs me when a few loudmouths push an agenda that really is much ado about nothing. What is the real agenda?

Never give in to demands or threats b/c once you do, more come right behind it.
Just say no, wait a couple of years til things die down, then change it on the university's timeframe.

Arbitrarily deciding on a matter because of who or how it is presented rather than on its merits is just as bad as groupthink. It may even be worse. Just because there are a bunch of tools behind an idea or movement doesn’t mean it is always wrong.

If so, your parenting will produce more of these panty wetters!
There is a right way and a wrong way to go about things. Using terroristic tactics should never yield the results the instigators want. Ever!
As I tell my son when he starts acting out like that in order to get his way, sorry but terrorism doesn't work in this house.

dislike people "even more" who are possibly overly worried on occasion about other people's feelings? Congratulations, you're an idiot, at best.

We need to put a stop to this notion that
Jan 15, 2015, 9:19 AM
|

We all need to determine whether not some act or policy needs to be determined based on how it makes people feel. This emotional plea approach, this "woe is me", this "I'm a victim", this "I am offended, so you must change" nonsense needs to be met with a resounding "tough @&&%, get over it".
It is just like my child who screams "it isn't fair" when I tell him he has to own his own decisions or do his chores or tell him no. Get over it!
