A cover charge for Venice?

Jun 30, 2022, 12:50 AM

Maybe we can charge for seats, and parking, and entry INTO Clemson itself. I smell Clemson Chamber of Commerce NIL revenue...

"Venice is set to trial an entry fee this summer in a bid to ease overcrowding in the historic center.

From June 2022, daytrippers will have to pay up to €10 to enter the canal city. This will be tested for a six-month period with a view to bringing the fee in permanently from 2023.

But with Venice currently heaving with tourists who have flocked to see the renowned Biennale art exhibition, here are some alternative spots to enjoy away from the crowds."

I hate that but it was so crowded three years ago

And we were there in May. Can't imagine what it's like during the summer peak.
Maybe that could pay for the flood mitigation work they need.

I went in March for 3 days and it was pretty abandoned

There were some people at the main tourist destinations but not too many. This seems more of a money grab then trying to keep the amount of people down.

One would have to think that this would be a crushing blow

to the blinds industry. Just think how many people will now be rethinking going there to get their authentic Venentian blinds?

That is where you are wrong, chief

10 euros is what, 33 cents? Seems like this could easily be mitigated through additional equity in your residence. A few more mortgage payments and they can delay the trip a little more to cover the cover charge at the door.

10 Euros is about $10.40 in US dollars

Caveman currency.

Roughly the same value as rocks, sticks, and glass beads.

Just think of the increase in equity tho

Well worth the price of admission
