Say what? Vegas sportsbook has Gamecocks co-favorites in SEC East

Someone in Las Vegas has been listening closely to Steve Spurrier. The USC coach has preached the positive this summer about his football team extolling the arrival of Jon Hoke, the expected improvement of the defense and the possibilities Pharoh Cooper and others will bring to the offense.
None of that rang true with the SEC media who in July plugged the Gamecocks into fourth place in the East in their pre-season voting. And the coaches who vote in the USA Today poll didn’t think all that much of it either leaving the Gamecocks out of the top 25.
But the folks in Vegas like to think outside of the box and the Bovada Sportsbook Wednesday, in updating its odds for all the Power Five Conferences, placed the Gamecocks and Georgia at the top of the SEC East at 8-5. What do they know that nobody else does?
As for Clemson, the Tigers are right where you would expect them to be, 2-1 favorites to win the ACC.
