UPDATE 11/30/15: Teams that have lost as ranked

Nov 30, 2015, 1:30 PM

teams to unranked teams since the last time Clemson did.

I keep telling myself I'm not going to update the List this week and then a bunch of teams go out and lose to unranked teams while the Tigers take care of business and then I just can't help myself!

On Friday, #15 Navy got spanked by a Houston team who look poised to keep their coach after he realized USuCk was in Columbia, SC and he was going to have to live there for at least part of the year. Navy makes its first appearance on the List.

#20 Washington State and resident college football weirdo Mike Leach get raided (pirate term, get it?) by Washington in their annual rivalry game. Wazzu makes its inaugural appearance on the List as well.

#24 Toledo got beat by Western Michigan on Friday as well for its 3rd appearance on the List. Holy Toledo--3 appearances in a very short time!

And on Saturday, in the Rivalry Battle of Teams Who Lose to Unranked Teams as Ranked Teams, #22 UCLA got destroyed by USC (the real one), breaking the 6-appearance tie between the two. UCLA makes it's 7th appearance, unequivocally (at least for this year) settling the debate of who is the most Pac-12ing team. #UCLAing

That brings our total to a staggering 57 teams!!

Meanwhile, the Tigers wrap up a 12-0 regular season, beating the Coots in W-B for the first time since '07. W-B tried its damnest to be the house of horrors it's been for us and the Coots played inarguably their best game of the season but it wasn't enough to take down DW!!

GO TIGERS!! BEAT THE TARHOLES!!!

Would be interesting to see how many teams have...

Nov 30, 2015, 1:37 PM

...been ranked over that period of time to compare 57 ranked teams having lost to the total number who have been ranked at all. Would provide the % of ranked teams who have lost to unranked teams. I'll bet it is a high %.

Ace, I for one am a huge fan of these posts. After all we have been through as a fan base I don't think these idiots can be reminded enough.

One correction for you ...

Nov 30, 2015, 1:47 PM

Houston was ranked #21 when they beat Navy.

Not by whatever poll ESPN uses:

Miss St was 21 last week.

That was the AP poll.

Nov 30, 2015, 5:44 PM [ in reply to One correction for you ... ]

Houston wasn't ranked in the College Football Playoff top 25.

There are 10 SEC teams on that list.

Nov 30, 2015, 1:53 PM

Finebalm doesn't like this particular statistic.

Finebaum would point out that Bammer ain't on the list. Just sayin'. Then he'd go kiss the autographed picture of Saban that he keeps on his nightstand.

against UNCheat. The term is now used whenever we lose (if we ever lose)
