Initial reports have them putting the choice of closing or staying open on districts with no reported cases in their area in those district's hands. Those with confirmed cases will be closed. Confusing enough?

What’s up with McMaster’s piecemeal approach? Here in Michigan Whitmer closed all schools statewide. Does he really think a virus is going to respect county borders? There’s already community spread, so wouldn’t it be prudent to help keep all of the state from community gathering to delay/minimize the spread? With this approach he will just keep announcing the closing of schools in more and more counties as the days go by.

It's a typical politician response. Wanting to please everyone, rather than make a decision that will certainly make some people mad. Sometimes you have to put the greater good in front. There is a reason ants are so successful.

There is little risk, if any, to those under 20. There is a huge possibility that they are frequently asymptomatic carriers. Schools would probably speed transmission.

We heard all SC schools close by Tuesday. Counties with no active cases possibly attend on Monday to hand out work packets to those without internet access. Greenville school board meets late this afternoon to decide about Monday.
