Maddow: MSNBC Special on Iraq WMD Will "Upset" Many

Rachel Maddow Explores Long Buried Claims of Intel Fraud by Bush. Rachel Maddow is looking to ruffle feathers, going where Obama or Congress wouldn't dare to tread, in publicizing the claims of the Bush Iraq Team which launched a long and costly war.

Because of a ten year mainstream media whitewash, it's been generally accepted that "mistakes" justified a war that resulted in over 4,800 US troop deaths. But this week, MSNBC will rock the boat, suggesting false pretenses took us to war, meaning the nation should start debating consequences. Rachel Maddow is teasing "many people will be upset" when the documentary Hubris: The Selling of The Iraq War airs on Monday Feb. 18.

If proven deliberate, the Iraq WMD intel debacle could constitute domestic and international war crimes. Someone must have had a long fight behind the scenes to get this controversy on the air because most of the facts have been readily available for years through indie media, books, articles (and even in drips and drabs on MSNBC).

Perhaps most striking is the way most media has ignored Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, a top level Bush administration insider who has offered to testify directly against #### Cheney and others. So what actionable allegations will Maddow present?

ok

Its bc she will avoid mentioning john Kerry and Hillary campaigning in support of the war 11 years ago. However it won't be maddening to me bc I would never watch such a hack job she tries to call reporting.

Why is she doing this at this late date? C'mon unless you w watch FOXNEWS exclusively you've known for years that the WMD's weren't found. This news falls in the water is wet category.

Maddow is a clown

Feb 16, 2013, 9:43 PM

She is just going to talk about the same #### that everyone else has been talking about, and many widely accept now, but try to "spin" it to make herself feel "relevant".

If they want to "rock the boat", how about getting off of Barry's d!ck and start exploring Benghazi, the use of drones to kill Americans, the kill list, Fast and Furious, etc... All of which are being swept under the rug by the liberal media and people like you buying into every thing they say as gospel.

And not like anyone needs to remind you, but there is a reason MSNBC is one of, if not the lowest rated cable news network.

Although I agree with your initial statement, I'm gonna disagree with a some of the rest. "Fast and Furious was a dumb idea when Bush started it and become a dumber idea when Obama allowed its expansion, so I agree. The "kill list" was front page news and the subject of a very long article in the New York Times as far back as May of 2012 so I hardly think it has been ignored by mainstream media. I am more concerned with innocent civilian deaths by drone(which can create more hatred against us) than an American who sponsors terrorism who lives abroad. Benghazi seems to be a lot more smoke than fire, and honestly I find four Americans lost a lot cheaper for a total change in a terrorist government than our lives lost in Iraq and Afghanistan. When Libyan civilians risk their lives from terrorists reprisal by holding signs of apology and sympathy with us in the streets of their towns, I consider that an accomplishment far beyond what we have accomplished in Iraq for more money and American lives. Finally I think you would not hear a word of complaint out of Republicans about the drones or death list if a Republican President was doing it.

Fast and Furious under Bush (called Wide Receiver) involved the Mexican government, RFID tracking devices, 1400 guns, and was shut down in 2007 after it was learned the drug cartels were able to remove the chips. Fast and Furious had none if that an involved more guns. Also, how many arrests were made as a result of F&F? WR reportedly had over 1000. The only reason F&F was stopped was because of the border agent deaths and the public outcry.

The thing that bothersome about Benghazi is the fact that no one can seem to tell who said what and when. Who denied them necessary help? I mean the attack went on for over 7 hours and people in Washington just watched. Someone needs to be held accountable but no one wants to say who. The people of Libya did way more for our people than our own government and that speaks volumes.

If you'd watch her show she has done a lot of stuff on the drones (why they are bad) and Benghazi (how there isn't much there and the right wing is trying to make it into a conspiracy)

Why wouldn't she? They all predate the four nights of airstrikes by the British and US Air Forces in December 1998 called "Desert Fox" which destroyed Iraq's production capabilities for manufacturing WMDs. We know Saddam had WMDS we and the Brits gave him the makings during the Reagan and Bush I administrations under the good offices of Donald Rumsfeld to use against the Iranians when he was our ally, and closed a blind eye when he used them against his own people to put down Kurdish revolts. We destroyed most of them during Desert Storm in 1991. But to be honest, Clinton did admit he thought Saddam still had a few WMDs left at the time of the 2003 invasion to the Portugese PM during a visit in 2004.

She is a knowledgable MSNBC show hostess, old buddy.

You should watch her some weeknight at 9, you would benefit from it. Pubs hate her because she a moderate and a Dem supporter. You are a nice fellow, just tied to the wrong P&R crowd:).

There is no biological evidence of life on any other planet. Emend his post to show earth and intelligent people who prefer Rachel and she would have a much higher rating. Only the far right Pubs can stomach Hannity.

And further, any far right P&R Pub. who would question her sex must be a bit effeminate. She is a lady who prefers other ladies, I am told by a reliable source.
