speculating that FSU may join the SEC. Of course, the hosts say there is no way he sees Clemson as an option. FSU and VT are what he thinks. That would suck if FSU and VT, 2 southern teams like Clemson, went to SEC an we did not get an invite.
I think though the ship has already sailed and Clemson and FSU are Big 12 bound.

I think they'd jump at the chance to get into the SEC if an offer came. And the SEC is salivating to get into that market.

Before the acc collapse. If the SEC was to come calling now, you would see that SEC patch on the shoulders of their uniforms.

They will leave in a heartbeat. Money is money. They're not so stupid that they don't realize that they are a football school with their football playmates (FSU and Clemson) about to move to another neighborhood.
AND for the last time to the next poster that says that they are "joined at the hip with UVA" or "the state legislature would not allow it"...that's bullcrap! UVA was pressured to vote for VT (over Syracuse)when the ACC expanded. The governor didn't want VT left in a watered down Big East with no other options. UVA will have options...notably the B1G 10.

I still don't think you people get that the government of Va. has tied the fates of Va Tech and UVA together. They did that when they threatened to pull UVA out of the conference if Va Tech was not invited to join the ACC. Va Tech is a state school with state tax support. If you think the government of Va. is going to now simply allow Va Tech to abandon UVA , you are very naive.

How could the state government "pull" UVa out of the conference? They just threatened to "pull" some of their state funding unless they voted for VT. UVa is a state school, too.
Why would the state government be against VT getting millions of dollars more in SEC money? They would be doing the taxpayers of Virginia (including ME) a disservice by standing in the way.
The SC legislature could take notice and do the same toward USCe!

This is untrue. The whole thing last time was to make sure VT wasn't left out. It had nothing to do with making sure the two schools were in the same conference. As long as both schools are happy with their place the Va legislature will not stop them from making money.

I believe VT will leave, and I believe they will leave just as quick as US or FSU. They are just as proud of their FB school first as anyone. Their heritage is as deep in FB as anyones is. I suspect they have an exit plan just as we do. Simply put, VT will bail in a heart beat, personally I do believe....

VT will have options. If the SEC doesn't come calling (which they will), the Big 12 will take them.
Unfortunately, VT will have more options than us.

In cootville, the sports talk here is 560am radio. It is a coot radio program. And the host are bias toward Clemson in a respectful way I guess you could say. If you are a coot though, its the best call in radio to vent their hate towards Clemson. The Corey Miller late afternoon show is the one with the most hate toward Clemson. Corey Miller absolutely hates Dabo. And he makes to apologies about it either. Like I said, if you are a coot, its good show. And it has tons of Clemson callers. The most hated Clemson callers is Tigerstyle, Orangeblood, and Neil from SC.

suppose that scenario did happen with FSU and VT going to the SEC. The Big 12 would just grab Clemson, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech and NC State. I would be fine with that scenario.

I think the only way the SEC will expand is if they feel the need to after this Big 12 stuff happens.
The SEC would be pretty set with VT and UNC. You get the biggest markets in both VA and NC with those teams.

to reassure themselves that Clemson can't get into the SEC. Last I heard there was a "gentlemens agreement" that FSU and CU couldn't join. What those Coots don't realize is that UF has WAY MORE JUICE in that conference than they will ever have. If UF says "no" to FSU, it won't happen. If USUC says no to CU, Slive might tell em to sit down and shut up!

Slive has already said he wants unanimous agreement on additions. Plus, USC is not the only school with an interest in keeping Clemson out.

I agree with you on that, but I think FSU would have WAY more opposition than CU. Considering FSU already beats out a lot of SEC schools for recruits, I don't see LSU, UF, UGA, BAMA, TENN. giving them anymore ammo for recruiting. Just think CU would have less opposition

If the SEC was trying to get both money and a better brand they would be better suited by taking VT and FSU. FSU outrecruits us and gives them a bigger market in the state of Florida that has some of the best athletes. They could then get VT which is a good football school and also gives them a new market. Thus they make more money and strengthen the conference.
Taking both Clemson and FSU would give them no new markets
