off, and see if you agree with this. The question is, "Why would a four-five star recruit sign with USUx?" I have only two answers. Either he grew up a ####, or, like Joyner, they "promised" him he could be a QB. At least we were honest with him and told him that although we wanted him, we did not think he has D 1 QB potential.
So, assume your son is a four-five star. He will get offers from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, FSU, Ohio St., Auburn, and lots of others. Now, assume you believe the SEC hype and want your son to play at a SEC school. He has his choice...why in heck would he opt to be a chicken? Think about it. Seriously!

I'm not certain our staff ever told Joyner that he couldn't play QB at the major college level . At least I've never once seen that admission by any of our staff . What I believe is that he was told he could come in and compete , or he could sign as an " athlete " and be a part of our team either way .
