What I don’t understand is, could we not pony up the amount of cash? It would’ve taken to keep coach here when Oklahoma came calling? Or was it a done deal that he wanted to go there no matter what if they came calling?

No one pays coordinators 8-9M per year. I think the highest is around 3M. But going back to OK was as appealing as Alabama would have been to Dabo at one point.

I love Clemson, but being the head coach of a school like Oklahoma is a golden opportunity and a step up from any defensive coordinator position

Don’t forget who we had for game prep and up in the booth. Wes pick chop Goodwin. The dude is not DC but he’s good at analyzing what the other teams like to do. Those two together make for an elite D.
