Ammon embarrassed himself, not Clemson. If he was given the coke by Dabo by order of DRad, that's embarrassment. Mr Lakip is an individual who makes his own life choices. He clearly doesn't represent Clemson. So how is that embarrassing?

I would venture to guess that Mr. Lakip is pretty embarrassed that his son engages in this behavior and that he was caught and has it make the front page of sports sites everywhere. While Clemson did not father Ammon, it did bring him into its family and allow him to represent the university and the football program. For those reasons, he embarrassed Clemson.

What? I wad just gigging the OP a little bit but it seems I pulled an offended liberal out of the woods. What does my post have to do with something different than me being inferior or in error??? The OP was clearly in error by saying someone on the team doesn't represent the school.
And as far as my views on liberals and conservatives go: I was born and raised in the South and also worked and lived on the West Coast for some time. In all my experiences I am used to both sides (liberals and conservatives) being wrong.... A LOT. It just seems lately that liberals are more wrong, so I assumed since the OP was making fun of Southerners that he was most likely a liberal. I was using a stereotype, kind of like the OP. Your post was also stereotypical of an "advanced liberal".
Now you can go ahead and tell me how wrong and small minded I am.

...sounds Illinois-ish/upper mid-western to me...You are taught and fed southern bigotry from infancy. You are on-the-average, very average, untraveled, mean-spirited and unhappy souls. I blame the cold weather.
Clemson football players represent the school in a very high profile way. Yes kids make personal mistakes but some mistakes are highly STUPID and PREVENTABLE and reflect poorly on the team and university because of that profile. That's why he has been suspended from the program...possibly forever.
Is this concept really that hard to grasp...?

I have heard that it is not his first drug arrest while he has been on the Clemson football team. I believe one would find interesting information if they were to check in the Clerk of Courts office in Franklin County Georgia.
