DB Romeo Finley will visit Clemson this month

JANUARY 7, 2016

Clemson wants to add one more safety to the 2016 class and one interested prospect is Romeo Finley (6-1 190) of Fort Walton Beach, FL. Finley has been in conversation with Clemson secondary coach Mike Reed and has set an official visit with the Tigers for January 23rd.

“I can’t wait to go up there,” Finley said. “I’ve been up there before, junior year in the summer. They’ve got things going now. They’ve got a big game this Monday and if they win they’ll have a lot to offer.”

Finley said Reed has laid out for him his plans for the secondary moving forward and how he would fit in if he chooses the Tigers.

“They have this package where they bring in seven DBs and he said I’d be good for that my first year,” Finley said. “Play safety and nickleback. They are taking two safeties and have one committed, so they are looking for one more.”

But the Tigers have stiff competition. Finley will visit Georgia Tech January 16th and he currently favors the Yellow Jackets.

“It’s just me and the defensive coordinator have a good relationship,” he said. “I will wait and visit Clemson. I really like Clemson, too.”

Finley said he’s also looking at Florida, Miami and Louisville for potential visits this month.

This season Finley had 60 tackles and 2 interceptions.

Very solid prospect, dropped off our radar for a while and didn't have an outstanding senior season but definitely a guy to play at the next level.
