I tend to go more towards the nutty, oaky, honey type of flavors. I do like the peat flavors for a change, occasionally. Some friends gave me a bottle of single malt Irish called Connemara. It was peaty, but not overly peaty. It was a nice drink.

Oban is a go to for me. I like Aberlour too, the sherry oak aging gives it a nice flavor and color. I like some of the stuff I've had from Dalmore too.

I like Bushmills Black Bush too, for an Irish blend. Not extremely sophisticated from a flavor standpoint, but solid and smooth for its price range.
