Nothing new...but filling gaps with transfers needs...

...to be part of the changes considered. I appreciate the system up until now has worked, and I love the thought of no transfers (commitment to recruited players). That said even the best take transfers to fill gaps. It will only become more important as time goes on. I am not talking about taking a ton of transfers, we only need one or two for depth, fill gaps and land the occasional stud. If we are going to loose transfers and we don't lose many we need to be open to taking one or two.

Landon Dickerson OL transferred to Alabama in 2019 - 37 pick in NFL
Henry To'o To'o transferred to Alabama in 2021 - starting MLB

Jonah Jackson OL transferred to Ohio State in 2019 - 75th pick NFL
Trey Sermon transferred to Ohio State in 2019 - NFL

Geogia has a few that we know all to well.


Now these teams loose a ton to the portal every year and we do not but most of that has to do with the talent that they bring year after year.

Not the only solution, but has to be a part of the change moving forward if we are going to compete in this new environment.

I totally agree. Alabama's leading receiver as well as leading tackler are both transfers. And they recruit at an insane level. There are misses in every recruiting class. But Dabo has said he will never take transfers so I guess we will just have to figure it out

Just facing facts, transfers in essence give you extra scholarships. You only have scholarship spots being used one or two years.

to enter the transfer portal, with Bama as a predestination. He is just using at least a half dozen CIA type "cutouts" so that it cannot be traced that he is having illegal contact with other schools players. The whole of college football is his recruiting oyster.

Don't try to contact me about this, I am putting my Tinfoil Hat back on now, so that Saban can't zap my brain waves.
