All these reputable people that know football have said that Dabo has to change , and that we are soft, poorly coached , less talented . Yet Dabo didn’t agree ? He will never get it talking about how great his coaches are and refusing to take the blame for this failure . His press conference yesterday continues to make him the laughing stock of the college football world . As Joey Galloway said , Clemson has not looked like the better team on the field in any of their 4 games this year. Ouch Dabo ! It make you cringe anymore to hear Dabo even talk to the media .

Be careful, sometimes it’s the Devil talking …and you don’t known the difference (scorched earth, Old Testament Dabo on Tyler, Pulpit Dabo bragging on past accomplishments and threatening to leave, “Moses Dabo” - coming down the mountain with a prayer meeting (team meeting) and saying “God has a plan”) .. I don’t think he’s well, mentally.. Neff must be scratching his head ..

You see, with yesterday’s press conference he has once again set it up so that if you say anything negative about him, he can claim you’re attacking his faith. Then he can feign indignation, claim to be a victim, and deflect all attention away from the real issue. The pattern is clear now.

Because they are all parakeets like every idiot on this board.
Just for one example…morons who have never played a down of football are calling the team “soft” because they’ve heard everyone else saying it.

Your point is that if anyone has the same thought as another then they are just reguritating it? You must be some kind of mind reader for sure...why didn't you warn anyone of this abysmal season?

Played football and been analyzing it for 15 years.
They are soft. There's a locker room issue, mental issues, and coaching from the looks of it.
We know what this team is capable of and it definitely is better than this.

Shaq Lawson? Xavier Thomas? They played ball man so your argument is once again proved wrong . If you watched other games after watching us play , and If you have any sense and are rational , then you realize we are soft , not even close to physical on either side of the ball. In case you need more examples , ask Andrew Mukuba, or the corner that portalled out to UGA and won a title . All have talked about how soft the practices are . Just facts man but don’t let them hinder your taking up for Dabo and utter failure with this 1-3 start

Nothing new here Row86 ... appreciate your long-term love of Tigers. I put that above my loyalty to any coach even a great one like Dabo Swinney. I played football for 8 years and know the game and toughness well.
Dabo can and will stay as long as he wants with some TBD level of decision-making authority taken away from him including portal transfer management, play-calling, schemes and coach/personnel hiring. That's where this is headed.

What is painfully obvious is that the team is playing very poorly. Anything else regarding why it is happening and how we got here is pure conjecture and opinion.

rhettfla For all your smart posts, I believe the on-field failures stemming from not using the portal are outside of the realm of conjecture and opinion.
These failures are multi-faceted but are largely evident by a growing Clemson player talent and depth deficit, a lack of urgency and sense of responsibility from long-term players, and Swinney's inability to identify the root cause(s) of failure.

That’s a pretty broad brush, but it is also hard to argue with. Dabo is the CEO of Clemson football. Ultimately, the buck stops with him. But the devil is in the details. And that includes whether player sin the portal that were available to us would have made a difference. That is where the conjecture starts. I’m not saying Dabo shouldn’t use the portal. If there are players there that will help I think he should. I just am not close enough to it to know the details and timing of what players we should have taken.

Who cares what he says. He doesn't need to agree with them and trash himself and his team in public. He just needs to go about and get with the program and make the changes.

I tire of using God as a scapegoat. It the worst thing I see people do for their failures is essentially blame it on God's plan. I think of that like Vizzini in prince bride.... You keep saying it, but I don't think it works the way you think it works.
Nor do I think God is particularly interested in football.

God has a plan, free will can get in the way

Free Will is teh concept that God give humans free will to follow him make choices etc….. I strongly feel that some people sit back and say “God will fix this, or its Gods plan etc, I beleive you have to listen to God and act, you have to be an active part in this thing called life… all of us has freee will of choice, to change, not change…. Those of us that have faith, we pray, listen and try to use our free will to do Gods will….. you can’t just sit back, you have to participate, make choices, etc…. JMO

He didn’t just sit back and he has made a lot of choices/decisions. Unfortunately, a lot of those have turned out poorly.
