I keep reading that Dabo is heavily involved in major decisions affecting Clemson athletics.

This makes sense, given his influential role as our football coach.
I also keep reading what a horrible decision it was for us to agree to the ACC’s grant of rights.
Based on that, how much responsibility should Dabo have for Clemson agreeing to the GOR? I’m certainly not blaming him - I thought it was the right move at the time too - but if he is going to be driving the decisions about conference affiliation as many of you say, shouldn’t he also be partly held responsible for the situation we are currently in?
I’m just trying to understand here. TIA.

Which makes sense, because football is largely driving these conference realignments.

would have been considered a strong upper echelon in football for the ACC. That potential never turned into a really. Deals were made with that historical backdrop. Not to mention the ACC was late and weak to the TV party.

It’s really a shame that some of those schools have been down in football lately.

I know Swofford gets blamed a lot, but his expansion choices were excellent based on the recent history of those programs just prior to joining the ACC.
If Miami, VT, FSU, and Clemson had been consistent top 25 teams, with others like BC, UNC, Georgia Tech having some top 25 teams here and there, ACC football would be been outstanding.

A: What legitimate source says Dabo is heavily involved? B: What legitimate source says Dabo had anything to do with GOR?

Actually, he probably wasn't that involved at the time. I remember sports writers talking about the ACC expansion and what a coup it was to pull it off. Then, as you and others have pointed out, had Miami, B.C., Pitt, Louisville etc held up it'd be a different discussion.
Now, when the GOR was being negotiated in 2014-2016 when finally signed, I doubt Dabo or Brad were consulted very much. It was more an administrative level decision and still is to this day. Jmho.

There was a reference to the expanded teams. My point is had those teams been as dominant as they had been the previous decade when we accepted them in, the GOR wouldn't be a big deal because the ACC would have locked in the highest ratings.
I did address your original question in my 2nd paragraph concerning Dabo's and Brad's involvement. The gor was signed in 2016. I stated explicitly that at that point in time, Dabo was ALL IN building a football program and again, at that time, the money looked pretty good. The problem I have with it is going to 2036. That should have been 2026 imo.

All I can say is

I have read dozens of posts here over the last week stating that Dabo is the most influential and powerful person at Clemson, and that he is heavily involved in all decisions made by the Clemson athletic department.
If true, it stands to reason that he was also heavily involved in Clemson going "all in" with the ACC in the grant of rights deal and TV deal.
I am curious if Tiger fans here - the ones who have been so critical of the ACC's current grant of rights and TV deal - are holding Dabo partly responsible for Clemson agreeing to these deals.
