Something about this whole deal does not smell right, and how many votes have they taken. Who were the NO votes?

No, they cant.

Their only option is Big 12, and that’s a lateral move at this point. The P2 conferences don’t need two additional schools in Florida, and Miami doesn’t have the value as FSU.

I put Miami in the same category as Nebraska. They will

NEVER be "back" to former glory as a program. The shifting demographics have passed them by. Georgia is now Thug U, and Miami no longer pulls in those talented, albeit troubled players.
(In Nebraska's case, it is like recruits suddenly woke up and realized, "Holy crap, this place is stuck in the middle of BACK nowhere, with nothing to do, No Thanks!")

Miami could pull their chestnuts out of the fire by going aTm big on NIL bribe payments.
So what if they do it wrong and suffer some watered down punishment from NCAA.
Back when Miami was rocking it under J.Johnson and Butch Davis, Miami found a way to make the Hurricanes’ FB program ‘worth their time and talents.’
Outside of big $$$$ for players, Miami is an after thought for today’s HS FB stars.

actually they generally are very talented on paper - just major underperformers
bought themselves a pretty nice class in 2023

The Miami vote is typical DRAD. He is still hoping to get to be a conference commissioner.

I believe that Clemson, UNC, and FSU are the only ones that have new homes. If the others had landing spots, they would have voted no as well.

Living in Miami and spending time with their execs and big boosters they are convinced they already have a BIG invite and that DRad will bring it home.
They also believe Ruiz is innocent and solvent and he'll keep funneling money to them.
They also believe the hospital/covid money means they can spend what they want.
In short. They're delusional as usual.
