Why do the Tigers not use the middle of the field in passing

Seems like every pass is down the sidelines where Stoudt's lack of accuracy & arm strength allows the defender to cover the outside & the sideline defends the inside of the receiver. Cooper & Leggett being out hurts the 5 yard drag routes, but RB's could get the short stuff & WR's take the slants either in front of or just behind the LB's. This would also allow RB's to run outside the tackles on occassion instead of right into the middle of the "D" ganging up over center.

No middle game since D. Allen

For the last three years, I have felt that the lack of a big tight end hurt our midrange passing game in the middle of the field. But I have to say that we were spoiled because Allen was one of the best ever.

Or more accurately, the fear of turnovers.

for what ever reason it's not his favorite route.. blows my mind bc you're right. they're there, but then again maybe they're there bc they know we wont run it.

You nailed it. Can Morris not see how well it works for everyone else including the team that he has struggled against five years straight, while they use it against us.

I agree with you . Seems like I remember Cole completing 19-21 in a game last year and most were in the middle of the field . It seems like he maybe had a little more time to find an open receiver last year .

Because the running game is not good enough to open up the middle of the field for the passing game.

Stoudt has trouble with the middle. Not sure why.

He seems to have trouble seeing defenders in the middle. Or I am just tired and drank too much. Lol.
