Against Pitt on Saturday.
To salvage the rest of the season, can't afford another L for the Morale of the team.

It is a must win to keep some of our goals for this season alive but a far cry from a must win for the sake of the program. If we lose we may lose some bandwagon “fans”. Can we count on you being in that group….

It isn't a "must win."

Losing to Pitt honestly isn't going to make or break our season at this point.
In terms of our goals when we started the season, the following are no longer on the table:
-National championship -Playoff appearance
Winning the division and winning the conference are still on the table, but they are long shots if we are honest with ourselves. As a result, losing to Pitt isn't going to change the fact that both of those goals are unlikely without considerable help from other teams.
This is a rebuilding year, period.
As for morale, the coaches have done a great job keeping our team upbeat and positive from everything I can tell. That says a lot, since this season has been super disappointing for everyone involved.

National championship and playoff appearance are not on Dabo’s list of 5 goals that do not change from year to year. The five goals are: 1 win the opener. That is off the table 2 win the division. Still possible at least mathematically 3 win the state. Still very possible 4 win the conference. See #2 5 win the closer. Obviously still possible
If we accomplish all 5 goals it usually leads to a playoff berth and NC but those games are NOT stated goals. If we only go to a minor bowl game, winning the closer is something Dabo puts a lot of significance on because he says it sets the tone for the next year. If we don’t even make a bowl game, beating USuCk would accomplish 2 of his annual goals - win the state and win the closer. Dabo has stated these goals repeatedly over the years. Any real Clemson football fan knows them.

were absolutely goals for this team this year, whether they were on Dabo's generic list of official goals or not.

You set the goals now?? I’ll stick with Dabo’s documented goals.

Pretty sure coach Swinney has never defined any goals about playoffs and national championship. The goals end at winning the ACC. What happens from there happens.

And if you're betting the entire season on the Pitt game you're either new to being a Clemson fan, or you're not one.
Dabo's teams don't quit.
"To salvage the rest of the season, can't afford another L for the Morale of the team"
EXACTLY the type of nonsense that fans from programs that have never won ANYTHING say (aka COOTS).
Beat it.

How's the program going to be in Cooterville when Uof6C finishes up the last 5 games, 0 - 5 and becomes Uof7C?
Oh wait, they don't have a program to worry about and their post season party will be at the local Bowling Alley.
10/23 - @ Aggies (L) 10/31 - Trick or Treat, dress up and pretend like they're football players 11/6 - Gators (L) Then comes the Tiger beat down: 11/13 - @ MO Tigers (L) 11/20 - Auburn Tigers (L) 11/27 - Clemson Tigers (L)

Nice try. Regardless of the result with Pitt, we will win our 7th in a row against you this season. Sheesh.
