With all the past years handicaps seemingly fixed is it time for Riley's Offense to shine and if it not do you go in another direction?

Plus we put up over 400 on Texas, although much of it came late.

The good thing is cade was consistent on that tough pass defense that Texas had and he carved them up pretty well. Even the commentator who did not expect that gave credit to Cade. As much as we are continually improving year by year on offense, of course more teams will take a look at him but does he want to take another job or maybe have a premier job like Clemson be there waiting for him as a reward for loyalty.

Even with the deficiencies did you think they were over achieving? Did you see a key first down due to a great play call? When Coaching jobs come open is he being considered and do you hope he stays?

His offense hummed in the 2nd year under his system. We had vast improvement in areas of need last year like explosive plays and etc. with the young WRs having another year to learn the system anymore. Not counting cade and the upperclassman. I don’t think his seat is hot at all. Go Tigers!!!

.... goes undefeated, wins the Natty and Cade wins the Heisman? Will Riley be a hot coach for a top 20 teams to come after?"
If I'm gonna worry about something, I prefer it to be something good to worry about.

Do y'all realize that Brett is a better Clemson fan than many supposed Clemson fans? Yeah, the guy with FSU in his name is better than a bunch who claim lifelong Tiger Fandom. SMH.

What are you talking about dude?
The offense? That is the least of our worries
Riley is here at his own will now.
There’s no person on that staff that has the idea that Riley is in that situation

I think it would take a terrible season for Riley to be on the hot seat, but I also don’t think this was an illegitimate or “coot“ question. The offense did underperform terribly against good defenses last season. The major exception was Texas, and hopefully that represents some lessons learned by Riley. I think the big lesson is to cut Cade and the receivers loose and throw the ball all over the yard, mixing in the run tactically. They were forced to do this against Texas, because we knew we had no run game. And all we did was carve up the nation’s best secondary. So hopefully Riley and the offensive brain trust learned from this and we see a wide open offense this fall.

Ok...BUT... You kind of stated what SHOULD be obvious there. A good offense struggled against the best defenses they played? Well, dosnt that mean the defense WAS actually pretty good? That's what good Defense does? The offense improved, but the Greatest Show on Tuef it was not. Especially with a RB that had one shoulder and an O line that was really just starting to gel. This year I THINK we see it really come together.

undoubtedly this is one of those Clemson football topics that isn’t supposed to be asked.
Me personally, I’d give him somewhere around a C+/B- on the offensive production so far. The late game decisions at times have been concerning and I’m still perplexed over the way an injured Mafah was handled last year with no options after him.
If Cade takes another step forward and we have at least 2 capable RB’s it should be the best year since Riley arrived, but I’ll admit, I thought we’d see some of the most innovative offenses we’ve ever seen at Clemson when Riley arrived. I’m not sure that has been the case but this year may change that

on being on the coaching hire list. AT least if that is something he wants to do. Because the expectation for next years team with all this defensive talent and QB moving on is that they will fall off some. Or there will at least that will be the perception in the off-season. College is more of a year to year thing these days. Dabo is the probably the only exception to stave off falling too much. But all the other teams that are staying above water have accepted the fact that its easier to throw out money and poach players as opposed to putting efforts into developing players. ITs sad for alot of these players that do work hard just to have their spot taken later by a free agent but NIL has forced it to be that way, at least for now.
