NFL.com has released its prospect review of former South Carolina head ball coach and graded him as a 6.317 on their prospect scale. 6.0-6.49 is categorized as a player that should become an instant starter, though some are starting to question the accuracy of these recent grades.
"He certainly looks the part- he's got the body of a suave 60 year old, with quick feet, most notably when jumping ship on his team" NFL.com said. "He displays impressive athleticism, especially when tossing his visor. Some questions surround Slurrier's alcohol use, such as prior to interviews, but that's mostly overshadowed by his team's impressive 4th place finish in 2011 where they received rings."
Spurrier finished his tenure at SC with a fantastic 44-40 conference record, though that's marred a bit by the recent slump and his 2-4 overall record in 2015, which saw him quit the team early to focus on 'more important things', such as golf. His former team finished 3-9 without him, including a loss to mighty FCS foe Citadel.
