The season isn’t even over yet. Fans acting like this just seem like they’ve never been "there" before. But I’m guessing you might also say the last 5 seasons have been abysmal failures as well.

I’m not a huge portal guy in terms of replacing a large portion of your squad.
In ideal setting you would only need a sparingly use it… Like 4 to 7 kids a year. You have to with the kids who leave your program (culture isn’t keeping them there anymore); kids that get hurt, kids who don’t pan out, kids who just quit.
As I’ve always said, the vast majority of talent should come from the high school ranks, and then you supplement sparingly with portal players. However, next year, we may have to lean a little bit more heavy into the portal. CDShas also said that he would use it more if needed. I think next year he’s gonna need it.
One of our biggest issues is, if you are not gonna use the portal to fill unavoidable holes, you better be very elite at high school recruiting. And we have not been. We have been good…not elite. When we play really good teams like Ohio State and Georgia the talent differential is extremely noticeable across the board.

No, this one is bad because the expectations were so high. Most know we are gonna have a dry spell so this was our one shot.
