I am warming up to the Erik Bakich hire. But it starts to make you wonder..... Neff was so gung ho on getting a big name for Baseball. It just makes you wonder why we can't have the same thing in Basketball.

Who says Bakich is a big name and what makes a coach a big name? Bakich has done a good job at a non baseball school so hopefully he can bring us players that will win. Big names don't win, players do.

He also said that Clemson Baseball was a top 15 program so he wanted to hire accordingly. Clemson is a top 100 program in Basketball and we have already hired accordingly. Assuming we give the support Neff promised we will likely see the results we desire. If we dont then a change would be required but following the investment...not before.

Would we be willing to pay more for that coach than we are paying now? Because that's what it would take.

This is typically when most of our fans get cold feet and get scared that it will negatively impact football.
