A couple things I would like to bring. First is CU BB.
Dec 3, 2015, 8:08 AM

|
In all of the years I have attended football, basketball and BB games by far Littlejohn is the least fan friendly place. If I were a recruit looking at Clemson Basketball attending a game I would not be impressed. Most have to concede we are a football school. And I am not sure CU has or will ever have the financial resources to compete with NC, Duke, Syracuse and other schools that have had years of success and has had an advantage over CU BB for 30 plus years.
You can fire BB but eventually IMO future coaches could see Clemson as a career killer. Kinda like the coots find themselves in football.
If Clemson fans want a better basketball program attend games or give your tickets to fans that will come. Help remove the negative cloud that has hovered over Clemson BB for years. Build a new fan friendly arena that will impress future recruits.
And for all of those who continue to post negative crap about Brad B , the program, the players , attendance etc.. offer up some positive solutions. It's easy to criticize but difficult to support the program when it needs positive support now more than ever.
And those of you who keep posting anything related a possible Clemson loss vs UNC Sat. Please post on another site. The coaches and players need fan support this week. Unless you have played football you don't understand how hard it is to play 10 consecutive weeks much less to go 12-0. There are only 2 undefeated teams and 6 1 loss teams in the top 25.
This has been an awesome season and I believe that Clemson will win Saturday. If don't believe we will win I would be glad to use your tickets.
And you negative posters please give it a rest at least until after the Christmas holiday season. Save it for 2016.
Sorry longer than I expected but I am so tired of people complaining about a 12-0 football team and a basketball team trying to get better as they bounce from LJ to Greenville eventually back to reminded LJ.
Tigers win Sat!!!!

I dont know first hand but I've heard GT did a good job with their arena. Hopefully Rad being involved at CT now insures we do likewise.Seems like Brad is beginning to get attention from some more talented prospects. Hope this produces an upswing

Fire CBB and hire someone else to run the program.
As for football, I'm not scared of losing...I think the Tigers will ho-slap the baby blues.

Brownell will be here for another two years. Period fans screaming FIRE FIRE FIRE does no good right now.
I agree that in two years if things do not improve drastically a change should be made but it wont happen before then.

Im just being realistic....
He wont be fired this year unless it was an absolute disaster. Looking at our product on the court so far this year that is not going to happen. His buy out is too large and he is playing every game away from LJ.
Next year will be his last if things dont improve.

Do you think CBB is the answer for the success of our program? If so, what has he shown you in 5+ years to believe that's the case?

A couple years ago he makes a run in the NIT. Last year in his 5th season he doesn't even get to the NIT. To me that sounds like the antithesis of progress.

like a wash, rinse, repeat scenario. The last several years we've seen our team lose games in November and December. The team makes some progress and beats a Pitt or Syracuse in ACC play. Then ultimately the team goes on a really bad run and we either get stuck with a bid to the NIT or worse and we don't even get an NIT bid. So far losses to UMass and Minnesota would suggest we're following the same pattern.

I have some doubts that BB attendance will pick up significantly when the new LJ goes on line. With virtually all games on TV or streaming, don't think folks who live in G'ville, G'wood and such places in the area are going to travel in rainey, cold weather and park several hundred yards away to attend. Its too convenient to watch on a large screen TV in the comfort of home. Had season tickets for several years in the late 70s and early 80s while living in G'ville. Fewer games were on TV then so there was no other option to watch games. I may be wrong, but it will be interesting to see how the attendance will be affected.

Dec 3, 2015, 3:16 PM

I went to more games when that Purnell guy was coaching. Energy was much better and the team was much better. This guy we got to replace him plays a very boring brand of basketball and wins a lot less. I'd like to see us get a coach who can run some type of fun style of basketball. I'd be much more willing to go to games at that point. Right now even if we're on tv I may only watch a half or so before I fall asleep.
I'm sure you basketball enthusiasts are going to tell me why I'm wrong, but I can tell you some of my CU friends who are also fervent about football and casual about basketball feel the same way. Just something to consider.
And spare me the "you're not a real Clemson fan" garbage. I haven't been to a women's soccer game or a tennis match, either. So unless you make it to every tennis match and get excited for women's golf, cool your jets. Being a diehard hoops fan isn't a requirement for being a CU fan.
