How many times have you’ve moved as an adult?

It seemed we moved tons when I was a kid. But as an adult, or the individual who’s paying the mortgage or rent, I’ve moved 6 times. 4 of those were in the first couple years of marriage when I was just an ignorant yet flawlessly strong specimen of a man that could move an entire home of furniture with only the sweat of my brow. Of course back then we only had a couch, a bed, 2 dressers, a small “entertainment center”, a small kitchen table with 4 chairs, and of course the heaviest item... a 20” television. Nowadays I got a whole family of furniture and a crap ton of stuff that I haven’t even seen since we sold the house and moved into this apartment. As I’m buying this new house, the thing that I fear the most, is moving stuff. It sucks. Really sucks. I really do miss the simpler life, when I could just pick up my bed and my tv and this lamp and get on to the new place.
If any of you LDRs want to pay for me to hire a mover just let me know. You can send funds to 7spots care of whatever means you wish to send me money. Or send beer. Either way, we’re getting the job done.

After we got married we lived in a basement of my professor

for 3 months, lived on Wyatt Avenue for a little while, then bought a house in York, then moved to the current house we built.
I guess that means 3 moves, unless you count moving into that basement after the honeymoon. Only one move since we got a mortgage, the others were rentals.

3 moves in the last 10 years, last one in July. Will be 4 next summer. This last time I saved some serious coin on a 3 state move by renting a truck driving it myself, and hiring movers on both sides to load/unload.

You kids always try to take the easy way out and end up...

doing more work than people who simply approach the job without fear of a little work.
Set the apartment on fire, file insurance claim then buy all new stuff and have the people you buy it from deliver. If you'll stand over them and say, move it this way a little, that's where SHE wants it the delivery guys won't argue with you.
Stop trying to take the easy way out, you're killing yourself.
