I hate that Neff got punk'd by Brown L like he did

last week. After lavishing all that praise, excitement about the future, and deeming us an NCAA Tourney level team, to have that thrown in his face like Brad pulled, caving at home in the NIT opener with another Q4 loss, was brutal. While Neff set himself up for it with his Premature Immaculation that Monday, it still stinks for him this early in his tenure to get totally pwn'd by a coach he just went to bat for.
Fans are used to this from the Bradster - 13 years don't lie. Sticking it to fans like that is one thing - sticking it to your boss, though, that's something else. Hopefully that embarrassment will stick with Neff next time around.

I would be willing to bet that he really don't care about what any of the fan base thinks bc he knows there's nothing that the fan base can do to threaten his job!!!

Oh there def is … according to someone we don’t support basketball but for what we have been given the last 13 years I’d say we support it pretty well … one way to send a message is to not show up to LJ next season that will send a message … more so than the place already being half full most nights but Clemson fans are better than that . Not saying we should do that just saying that’s one thing that will put someone’s job on the line when money is involved

What a sad take on basketball. In the NCAA, there are no #1 seeds and only a single #2 seed left. In the NIT there is not a #1 or #2 seeds in the final 4. To believe that any team will be able to win is just really, really farfetched and immature.

exactly - if there was ever a year this was it. And Bradstard Brown-L manages to lose to some of the absolute worst teams on our schedule. The teams in the Elite Eight ranged from 6 - 35th in NET rankings. Miami is 35. Take them out, it is 6-17. These aren't scrub teams. And Miami is probably artificially low because they played in a dogcrap conference. And RPI is still a better predictor than NET (remember how much everyone hated RPI?). 4 of the top 6 teams in RPI are still playing. And Miami was 14 in RPI. So its not really so topsy turvy.

While I agree with your points, Neff should not get a full pass. He as been at Clemson since 2013 and I understand he took a special interest in basketball, having served as a basketball student manager at Georgia Tech. He should be fully aware of Brad's history as head coach.

If your stomach hadn't already turned from the tried and true failures that Bradsketball has delivered to Clemson Nation the past 13 years, reinforced in all its glory this past time around, well that's on you. If these kinds of observations are what causes your stomach to turn today, then you're part of the problem.

The post earlier about the finances helped me. Neff was actually punked by Radokovich, who re-signed Clownell for five more years with plenty of buyout. That put Neff in a bad position, as apparently they are now embarking on some 40 mil. operations campaign and need the money. It's a financial call. I believe they are having to let his contract play out so they have the money to move forward. I hope this is the case, it's the only explanation, really, for allowing this guy to stay. Rad, who liked to sit on convertible cars in Clemson Natty parades and wave to the crowds on college avenue as if he did something, was a fraud.
