I am getting concerned about UGA continuously taking players that we really want or need. Last 2yrs they have grabbed 3- 5* OL that I really thought we had locked up. Those hurt much more than losing a 5* RB or CB
I'm not one of those that profess $$$ bagmen crap, but there is a reason we are losing these top OL. Is it Caldwell not being a great recruiter? Is UGAs OL coach that much better of a recruiter? Is it purely the fact that it's easier to block for a run heavy offense vs. blocking for a tempo RPO offense being more difficult?
We always recruit well and with our current success we should be recruiting elite which we are close. But seems like Bama and Ohio are just 1-2 steps ahead and Georgia has caught those programs while we are just lagging by a step. I think that step could be made up if we could sign some of these 4-5* OL. I know we have Hyatt which is gone this yr and Carman. But that is only 2 over past 5yrs since we are deep into 2019.
Why wouldn't top OL want to come here?

i have wondered that same thing. i love Caldwell but im to the point to where i think we need someone younger and better at recruiting to handle the recruiting for him. its a "you hate the guy or love the guy" deal with him and theres no in between with the recruits obviously. I dont think we need to get rid of him by any means because he is a fantastic coach, i just think its time to get him some help.

I’m not pointing fingers in any direction but for some reason we can recruit elite at every position but OL. We do get good ones and our running is the best statistically it’s ever been but I think OL as a whole is the only difference between us and Bama, but for a while they had everything but elite QB now they have that. When we play them they are in our backfield every single snap and whoever the QB has to get the ball out in record time. But on the other hand nobody else is beating Bama in the postseason but us. We have an awesome team I just really really really wish we could punch them in the mouth like they do us and every other team. Give em a d*mn dose of their own medicine

It's not just Georgia & it is not limited to BlueChippers(4&5Star), 3*OL are difficult for us to secure; find it a little distressing-I'm tired of thinking about it.

Having a team from any conference does not guarantee the whole conference fan base will watch. It also isn’t much different than the title game or the BCS. Only 2 teams can play so does that mean all the other conferences’ fan base will not watch the national championship?JMO
