My take on Chris Fowler
Nov 21, 2012, 2:55 PM
|
|
Last year when we were doing so good after the VT game he/ESPN set up an interview with Dabo. Now Fowler had already acquired a reputation along with James and Palmer of making fun of a Clemson fan at a GT game a couple of years before. Dabo knows that and he is very curt in the interview. Fowler is taken aback by it and you could see it on the screen. Since then, Chris Fowler never mentions Clemson or covers Clemson on anything. In fact to take it further on a show last year Herbsteet started talking about Clemson and Fowler stopped him and some comment was made like "You know how I feel about that."
This year we have been disrespected by ESPN all year. In a article yesterday on the ESPN site on Tajh Boyd it was lamented that Clemson had not been talked about all year so no-one knew who Boyd was and therefore that was why he was not in the Heisman talk. My wife tweeted the author that it was ESPN's decision not to showcase Clemson and Boyd all season long.
Fowler is probably eating up this Twitter stuff. He is arrogant and "hates" Clemson and Dabo IMHO. I hate the fact that the eSECpn mafia run the world of college football.

He always talks about how much he benches and is a typical ESPN poser who thinks, just because he rolls with ex-athletes, that he's an ex-athlete.
Just like Stuart Scott (ask him about his run-in with a Jugs Machine.)

Please stop these posts. It just adds to our reputation as paranoid whiners. Win the game saturday and a bowl game and we will get plenty of natl attention, assure you.

network to be started to take the monopoly away from ESPN. They need some real full-time competition.
Oh, and Chris Fowler is, and has always been, a smart a**. These guys would be knocked down off their high horses if they had real competition. I am thinking kind of like Fox News came in and stuck it to CNN.

we got all kinds of press and attention last year until losing the last 4 of 6, which included some inexcusable losses and the OB blowout. And now looking back, the "big" teams we beat last year were apparently at the begining of their downfall. ESPN is still waiting on the slip up. We will have to earn back the respect to get ESPN media attention again.

ESPN has been waiting on a slip up, not the fans, hence the "disrespect" as mentioned in the original post. Seems ESPN has been burned too many times in the past hyping us up, then we failed to produce at season end...until recently. But ESPN is waiting to make sure we withstand our success before hype us up again.

What a joke for them to travel there and have to beg fans to show up. Hopefully the crowd is nonexistent and the ratings take a nosedive because of it.

They probably won't sell out the stadium, meanwhile at the REAL Death Valley the place will be rocking, even some South Carolina fans wanted Gameday here and were calling ESPN a joke because they chose a game that involves the #1 team versus a totally irrelevant one.

Tweet from Fowler last night:
@cbfowler: Hey Clemson: We KNOW it's a great scene there and would've been a huge @CollegeGameDay turnout! but turnout hardly top criteria for us.
This guy is a joke, thank you Clemson faithful for putting him in his place on twitter. I have disliked him ever since he made fun of that kid at the Georgia Tech game. It was a KID, a STUDENT. I have seen way worse reactions, if that happens in another conference the student would be hailed as "dedicated.... heartbroken.... a true fan!....." But since he has something against Clemson he made a big deal of it and made the kid look bad. Screw Fowler.
