Yea ok it didn't turn out like I thought

Actually it didn't turn well at all.
I have one big divot in the middle from where the pallet slipped off the brick.
The "acorn" stain and seal looks like #### but it was the only stain/water seal they had that wasn't $50 just for the stain.
The boards have 4 coats of Thompson's water seal all the way around including the exposed portions of the pallets and the edges.
Between the hours of 3-5 pm it is unbearable to sit on because the sun is beaming right in your face.
Also got a really bad sunburn
The good news: My wife's 400 lb friend did not fall through when they were over Saturday. So the structural integrity is passes muster.
Pallets burn extremely hot and when you throw all of them in the BBQ pit because you're sick of seeing a ####### pallet you end up with a 20 ft high ball of fire that the water hose won't put out.
Anyways it's been put to use saturday night to grill and Sunday morning sitting and watching the turtles in the pond.
Wife of has already starting tossing out ideas for pallet furniture.
No thanks.
At least my body didn't try to kill me while building it tdrake®

put something on the ends to at least pretend to keep #### out? One of your kids is going to toss a bar or hotwheels car under there and get bit by something when trying to retrieve it.

The biggest thing I wanted was for it to be able to breath

that's why I graded it so steep instead of level and put the sand down and the bricks.
Closing it in would not allow the air to get under it for it to breath

after discussions with my brain trust I have decided to use some of the old decking boards I took off the wheelchair ramp and cap the ends where you can't see the pallets. BUT IT WILL STILL HAVE A GAP FROM THE GROUND FOR AIR CURRENT.
