My observations from practice today

Mar 27, 2015, 8:42 PM

-Defensive line: I really like the 1st four of Lawson, Reeder, Watkins and Dodd. Not much drop from the past few years there. I think the backup defensive tackles will be Pagano and Rod Byars, with maybe a 3rd being Wilkins when he comes in the summer. Ebo will be the primary backup at end, not sure on the others. There seems to be void on depth there, but Huggins looks promising.
- Chris Register is one year away from being an absolute stud at end. Great size, and very explosive. Just needs to a year of polishing.
- Boulware and Goodson look and play the part at inside linebackers. No drop off there. The two redshirt freshman behind them look good too.
- Cordrea Tankersley is a BIG cornerback. Reminds me of Byron Maxwell. He and Alexander will be a nice tandem. Our secondary is huge and intimidating.
- Love our starting 5 offensive linemen. Tyrone Crowder is All-ACC caliber. His pass blocking has really improved, as he dominated the pass blocking drills against some very good defensive tackles.
Can't wait for the season to start! Go Tigers!

Didn't spend alot of time watching the WRs but

The biggest surprise seemed to be Germone Hopper and Charone Peake. They both looked VERY explosive after the catch.

At QB Bryant appeared to be slightly ahead

of Israel. But of course it was the only practice I've seen. At running back, I'm telling you there's no way they're gonna be able to keep CJ Fuller off the field. He's just that good. We have an embarrassment of riches at running back.

I completely forgot about Fuller

And he was the one I was most excited to see last year.

A healthy Peake will be tough this year

Really like this

"Boulware and Goodson look and play the part at inside linebackers. No drop off there. The two redshirt freshman behind them look good too."

Boulware gonna be special....

thanks for the report- by far the best thing i read there is that our o-line is looking better/tougher. i know what we got in skill positions w/o a good line (last year). if DW actually has 3-4 seconds to read defense & not get smacked after every throw, i know we're gonna be there for a top 4 seed in january.

also, i think hopper answers the challenge this year. he mostly played well & DW had a good feel w/ him, some people lose track w/ all our other stud wr's lately that germone is dang talented too!

for peake, as a former athlete, i think being able to start offseason healthy will help him be in good enough shape & make it all the way through relatively injury free. he might be the overall best wr we have when he can actually do what he's capable of, looking for a big sr year from him like steward had last yr!

Thanks, but there is gonna be a drop off from last year's DL to this season.
