My info on thornhill "gunshot"

The gunshot noise last night was some clown made a homemade explosive type thing whose purpose is just to make a loud bang. Somebody mistook it for a gun and called police I assume.
I saw this on Clemson email for students.

Its also good that they didn't blow somebody or their own dumb A$SES up. People sometimes just don't understand that, once you see the flash you can't call it back. BOOM, its over, damage done!!!

I was visiting a friend who lived in Thornhill Village. We were all ready to leave and go out but his roommate, who was trying to finish-up studying, kept telling us, "just give me another minute."
To hurry him along, we lit a pack of firecrackers and threw them in the room under his chair and closed the door.
Needless to say, it definitely hurried him along. It also pi$$ed him off something fierce. With those cinder block walls the firecrackers sounded more like a machine gun. It was deafening.

days-
in the mid 80's some dude set off a "noisemaker" that was actually a pipe bomb in the amphitheater during Rocky Horror Picture show. It injured several people- I always heard one girl ended up losing her foot or leg(amputation)-- not sure if that was 100% accurate but the blood stains were very prevalent the next day and there was a huge chunk out of one of the trees 100 ft away at head level had people been standing. They got the guys-- not sure how their trial/plea turned out-- no internet to keep up with such things back then.
