My Gawd, looking over the coots defense

SCar fans don't want to hear this and Clemson fans won't believe till they see it but
SCar's defense will be the worst unit in the SEC. Looking at their roster on that side of the ball has got to be scary for SCar fans. The defensive line is going to be absolutely terrible. Secondary will be atrocious and linebackers will be okay but won't matter with how weak everyone else is. Their offense will have to average 40 a game for them to stay competitive.

Anyone guaranteeing a win this year for us in our game with them???? Until I see it - nothing else matters.

I assume that is why they are in everyone's preseason top 10. Thin at DE and young at CB. DT and LB top shelf the reason for more 3-4 formations. Georgia will test the D and so will A@M early. Coots will look about the same on D when they roll into D valley.

Well I hope you are right. My sister is a Texas A&M grad, so we (and her two Clemson-enrolled sons) are buying tickets from A&M for the 8/28 opener and hoping the Aggies put up 60 on them coots. Heck, I may buy a Johnny Football jersey just for the occasion...

You do realize JFF does not play for aTm anymore, right?

Well, what you say may be true...

I don't personally see them being the worst defense in the SEC. They've recruited too well for that to be the case. With that being said, we ain't beating anyone when we turn it over 6 times, so let's hold onto the ball and shut them up this fall.

Yes, we lost almost as much talent on defense as we did in 2012 draft. Heard the same thing then.
Chaz Sutton had a bad year, according to every Clemson fan Clowney was lazy, stupid, and overrated so how will that hurt. I think you fail to realize 10 D Linemen got significant minutes last year. Only 3 of those are gone.

Your D wasn't very good last year, though

I see them taking another step back this year without the presence of guys who can play at Clowney and Quarles's level. Luckily for you, though, your offense is built to play keep away with a stout OL and a good RB. My guess is you will struggle against teams with offenses that can run the ball (Georgia, Auburn, etc) but will do a little better against teams that throw a lot.

We were 19th in total defense

And somehow we weren't good and are going to be even worse this year?
Yet you guys were 25th in total defense and are going to be the 00 ravens this coming season?
Whammy had earned my trust. Last year tigernet was saying our linebackers were going to be our doom and by this season they are our best unit.
CB does scare me but we have great play at safety which will hopefully help cover that inexperience.

So losing our 3 best pass rushing d linemen and both corners is going to hurt us stopping the run. I see you really did a lot of research before making that statement.
If our D is going to have a weakness it will our young secondary if Darius English and Gerald Dixon (DE) don't do a good job rushing the passer and we have to bring LB's to get pressure. I don't normally like to count on newcomers to be big contributors but Abu Lamin looks like he will be a very good interior presence that can be inserted on passing downs.
