Love that quote and would add that the best thing that can help our running game the quickest this season is being able to throw the ball down the field consistently.

I was under the impression Etienne scored the second TD on a bruising run through three defenders near the goal line that made business decisions.

In our recent success we've always passed to set up the run.
We don't have the Oline talent/coaching/scheme/what have you, to RUN to set up the pass.
if our WRs would fix the pass game then it would open the run......in theory..........assuming Streeter knows what he's doing.............and grisham.

Difference is that you typically can't beat anyone if you can't run the ball. In order to compete for a NC you need to be able to pass the ball. Such is the nature of the modern game.

Agree with Dabo 100%. DJ has definitely improved this year from an accuracy standpoint. The wrs need to take the next step, get separation and catch the ball when it hits their hands.
Seems like we are lacking that play making wr we have grown accustomed too, Williams, Watkins, Hopkins.

DJ has 41 completions for 441 yards. As long as the passing game can’t extend past 10 yards, the running game will be nonexistent

the Sammy, Nuk, Tee types that are deep threats that could stretch the field. I like our last class....(Williams and Randall) but we haven't gotten the production from earlier classes. Really need Ngata and EJW to step up. A shame Ladson or Ajou were misses....

I think you’re on it here. We basically had a couple classes that were misses coupled with Ross injury and Tee leaving early. Hoping one of the most recent is explosive. Really like what we are seeing from 0 (Antoine Williams?). Every time he touches the ball he looks like he’s gonna make something happen.

Hopefully, we can do a better job pre and post snap of finding the openings in the defense and spreading the ball around. We had 5 guys with 3 or more catches last game.
Would like to see us throw the ball to Will Shipley and Phil Mafah more often out of the backfield. Will's elusiveness and Phil's power and speed should be tough to defend in space.

Travis first two years he caught 17 passes for 135 yards and 2 TDs.
Travis last two years he caught 85 passes for 1,020 yards and 6 TDs.
Will caught 16 passes for 116 yards and no TDs in his first year. I can't imagine why we wouldn't try to develop that threat from Will.
