David Dunham and Mat Ryan. You're a youngster I can tell.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Wonder if ESPN would've given the same airplay

Jan 22, 2014, 5:22 PM

to Dunham's hit on Ryan they gave to "Doo-Doo" if David's hit had happened last year???

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I dunno because Dunham probably would be ejected

Jan 22, 2014, 5:27 PM

for targeting with that hit under current rules. He definitely launched. It was arguably spearing under the old rules, but not called. It would absolutely be a penalty under the new, harsher player safety rules.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The hit by Doo Doo the Clown probably would be too.***

it sure should have been!!it broke several rules that were completely ignored that day!

badge-donor-15yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It's possible because one official said that Clowney

Jan 22, 2014, 5:32 PM [ in reply to The hit by Doo Doo the Clown probably would be too.*** ]

would've been ejected for that hit under the new rules, but then after a bunch of public outcry they backed off and said it was a legal hit.

David Dunham on Cory Boyd in the 63-17 game was only out

Jan 22, 2014, 8:44 PM [ in reply to Re: My favorite Clemson hit against an opposing player has too b ]

done by David Dunham's hit on Cory Boyd on the opening kickoff of the 29-7 game.

Wasn't that Jammal Fudge?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

LOL. Yeah, Fudge got him on a pass over the middle, but DD

Jan 25, 2014, 8:46 PM

got him in the backfield and dropped him like a sack of potatoes. The tide will turn again..........

Go to YouTube and find "The Fridge's" hit on Md RB

Jan 22, 2014, 5:18 PM

in which Perry picks up the opposing player, takes a couple of steps and then slams him to the ground in a style WWF fakers only wish they could perform

2024 purple level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This...

Jan 22, 2014, 5:23 PM

I was there when Fridge slammed that player to the ground. He had such speed for a big guy, and I'm pretty sure that RB would add strength. lol

I think Chester McGlockton was more athletic with his speed

Jan 23, 2014, 11:53 AM

and vertical leap

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Have you ever seen the video where Fridge stands flat footed

Jan 25, 2014, 8:49 PM

and hops onto a table 36 inches off the ground....over and over...pretty impressive. Plus, if you ever were in Fike to see him Dunk...........well, to say it RATTLED the back board is an understatement!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Fridge was fast for a big man at the time

Jan 25, 2014, 10:26 PM [ in reply to I think Chester McGlockton was more athletic with his speed ]

Saw him run down a RB downfield many times. I imagine that he wouldn't seem as fast now with how players have changed, but there is no doubt he was the fastest big man of his time.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yep

Jan 22, 2014, 5:18 PM

DD's was one of the most vicious hits I have ever seen. Too bad Matty ice lived.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It finally caught up with him this year.

Re: My favorite Clemson hit against an opposing player has too b

Jan 22, 2014, 5:25 PM

Over the years I have been lucky too see many great hits by a Tiger hard for me to pick just one
One comes to mind when the dawgs came to DV and WP stopped HW running full speed picked him up walked 3 steps and drove him in the ground both teams went on the field
I'm thinking if someone were to ask OSU QB he might not know his name but I'm willing to bet he sees the #33 in his dreams
OSU did the same to TB in the end zone with no flag
#33 got 2 as a favor

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Just think what the score

Jan 22, 2014, 5:31 PM

would have been if the penalties had been called the same both ways.

Jan 22, 2014, 5:31 PM

Jamaal Fudge and David Dunham were a couple big hitters.

Jan 22, 2014, 6:12 PM

I miss those guys. Dunham also had the fumble causing hit on the opening kickoff of "The Brawl" game.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The best one ever..

Jan 22, 2014, 6:21 PM

David Dunham sends a punt return blocker into the return man, knocking the daylight out of both of them, this one is right up there with the hit on Matt Ryan. Fast forward to about 1:45 in the video.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Matt Ryan hit

Jan 22, 2014, 11:33 PM

When his helmet popped off....for awhile that year we were taking lots of team's QB's out of the game.
