Most Vauleable Player Next Season

Jan 21, 2015, 5:04 PM

I believe that next year we will see several players come from out of the shadows to contribute to this team. The two I feel will the most are as follows:

OFFENSE: CJ Fuller- True running back with great speed and size. Plus he has good vision and a redshirt where we was able to get stronger through strength and conditioning. With all that his vision is pretty good too.

DEFENSE: Dorian O'Daniel- LB with good size and discipline. He should us that during the GT game last year. Loves to hit people and has a good football IQ. Also been in the system now 2 years and I believe is ready to explode onto the scene.

Tell me what you think. TIA

Not to be too critical, but I think you have the map and newcomer awards mixed up.

CJ Fuller would have to somehow navigate past about 5 guys at his position to accomplish what you expect. My best guess wih him is that he gives us something that only Dye potentially can match which is a true short yardage/goaline presence at RB. He does have speed and good vision, but I don't see him getting significant enough touches to think map or newcomer for that matter in my opinion.

Dorian could very well break out and be a star, but I think there are better potential choices. Boulware is probably the consensus pick, certainly on TNet, but it may just be Shaq Lawson if not Mac. I do think Dorian is going to pay huge dividends on the field for us this year. Watch out for Korie Rogers sneaking in as an impact player this year as well.

There is no doubt who the MVP of this team is next year

Jan 21, 2015, 5:22 PM

Not sure if you are talking about dark horses to have a break out year or what, but the MVP is definitely Watson.

Definitely Watson will be the MVP but if we're talking about breakout guys...

Offense: Deon Cain - I expect this kid explode on the scene fast, similar to how Sammy did. Nobody is gonna be able to cover him.

Defense: Ben Boulware - He's got some big shoes to fill and he's definitely going to have to fill them if we're gonna stay a top defense. I think he'll do good though after seeing how he's played this past year when he had his opportunities.

Special Teams: Ray Ray 3 - Kid is lightning in a bottle, nuff said.

We know what Reader and Watkins are capable of and

Jan 21, 2015, 5:30 PM

we know we have a stud in Lawson, so we need someone to step up at SDE .... SO

D: Kevin Dodd or Dane Rogers - we need one of them (both really) to step up @ SDE since we lose Crawford and Barnes. I think they feel the pressure from Big 'Bert and have good years, especially Dodd. Not necessarily MVP's of the D, but in order for us to be sucessful overall on the DL, we need them to step up.

O: Crowder - Road grader and ready to contribute. His only downfall was his pass protection and after 2 years in the system, he should be ready to go. I look forward to him making holes for our deep back field. Again, not the overall O MVP, but we need him and some others like Hearn, Morris, Falcinelli, and the veterans to all step up so we can have unity to the OL.

Wild Card - Thompson - the forgotten 4* WR recruit that didn't enroll early like Scott, Kitt, and Priester. Well, considering Kitt and Priester are gone, and Thompson had a year to work on his game, fine tune his skills, and work on his speed and strength, I think he's poised for good things. Seeing the field maybe tough with Mike Williams ahead of him, but I think he makes the most of his time when he does. He is going to be very good going forward.

I am more talking about dark horses, people we don't talk much about on TNET. But i think the will contribute more than we expect. Honestly I could go on and on about who we have and the potential they can or could have. Just glad we have this problem.

I don't know how anyone cant think Deshaun Watson won't

Jan 21, 2015, 5:55 PM

Be our most valuable player next season. If he goes down, imo, so does our season. Behind DW will be Nick Schuessler and 2 freshman. Nick could certainly improve during the offseason and the 2 freshman could end up behind solid backups but they will not be able to run this offense like DW.

Re: I don't know how anyone cant think Deshaun Watson won't

Jan 21, 2015, 6:20 PM

I agree. Watson is our MVP, but he may not be playing by Mid October. Until he proves it otherwise, history says he is injury prone. One if Freshman better be ready.

Say What?

Jan 21, 2015, 5:58 PM

CJ Fuller? No doubt the kid is a beast but let's get sirius. This team revolves around Deshaun Watson. 110%. I would argue him as the defensive MVP as well for padding leads and allowing the D to rest on long TD drives.

Plus, the RB rotation will see 4-5 guys carry the ball regularly, and Fuller is on the bottom of that totem poll as it is.
