Kosher???

A bottom feeding carp thriving in the most fetid waters but with lots of scales is kosher, but swordfish which lose their scales in adulthood, live in the open seas and are delectable are not.

Got it.

True.Should have gone with the Religion Board vs Hunting/Fishing/Recreation Board or the reliable Football Board for all things non-football.

I am chastened.

The football board was the religion board this weekend. And a great question...

"...it’s not about where the fish feed, but whether they swim to the upper levels of the water. Interestingly, carp, which is often classified as a “bottom feeder,” actually feeds in nearly all sections of the water, and feeds on the bottom only 40–50% of the time. They are also known to feed directly on the surface."

But also because scales and fins are awesome and fish are both ambitious and innovative <img border=">">">

"Interestingly, the Talmud states: "scales, which protect the fish like armor, represent the quality of yirat shamayim, “awe of heaven” and integrity, which protects us from negativity and the many pitfalls that life presents. Fins, which propel a fish forward, represent innovation and ambition. Ambition and innovation without the protection of integrity and awe of heaven can have very negative consequences, and isn’t “kosher.”

Maybe you've heard the terms "As ambitious as a carp" or "As innovative as a fish?"

Doesn't really make much sense, do it?

I guess there wasn't much fresh sword around back in 0 AD Jerusalem.

Think what the world would have been like had Jesus been born in Nassau.
