A judge, yes one judge from Cook County IL, has ruled that Trump can't be on the ballot in IL.

I don't want either Trump or Biden, but find it ridiculous that by a 4-3 margin in the CO Supreme Court, by the Secretary of State of ME and now by a solitary judge from IL, that they think they are entitled to protect the voters from themselves.

SCOTUS needs to move on this nonsense. These folks are giving activist judges a bad name.

It makes 0 sense and makes elections far less safe and fair having them managed by states rather than centrally. 50 sets of rules, 50 different opportunities for chicanery.

The Constitution list some requirements that a candidate must meet to

“be eligible”

for the presidency. The insurrection words of the 14th amendment are

“be”

… an ever so slight difference.

Though only slightly different, it IS different, different enough that I conclude DJT may be on the ballot in any and all states. Notice I wrote “may”,not “should” and that is because if elected, and if the 6JAN activities are an insurrection, an elected DJT will not be sworn in.

Yes, you read that right … the 14th amendment as written allows our Supreme Court to assert that a passive aggressive path forward is possible. “You may run but you may not be” … or “Have fun and run but you shall not serve”.

Strange … stay tuned.
