Monte Lee and Bradley LeCroy

I think it is funny that several people on here are in support of Monte Lee keeping LeCroy if he gets the job. My thing is LeCroy is a better man than me. I like him and want him to get the job. However, I would not stay at a program that asked me to apply for the job but then picks someone else but tells me they are going to keep me. I don't know if I could work at a place where I was second or lower choice but told we still want you around. Basically your good enough to be an assistant coach but not our head coach but your too valuable to let go. Also how does Monte keep a guy that is up for the job too? I mean wouldn't you think the administration and the assistant may undermine him to get the job if he struggles or that the assistant is reporting everything to the administration. Also says we think your a good hire but want this guy to stay around because your assistants that help get you this job aren't good enough.

Have you never been passed over for a job you wanted in your own company? It happens all the time...and it's not altogether rare for strong relationships to evolve from the new 'partnership'.

What's important to you may not be to him. Bradley has a family and young kids; also he is from 15 miles down the road in Walhalla, so he has family all around the area. Maybe he wants to raise his kids in the most awesome area in the country. Maybe he doesn't want to pull up roots and be a nomad like many coaches are their entire lives. Many, many people would come work in the Clemson area for a substantial pay cut because their lifestyle is more important than their bank account or job title.

We are also bringing in someone who would have a better resume than him. If we hired someone who was an assistant elsewhere, then that would be a totally different situation in which he would probably go somewhere else.

well thought out. I'm sure bradley is a good person but there is an unwritten rule among coaches to not hire a guy who interviewed against you. its the first sign of weakness. if you want monte lets hire him and let him do his job period. wasn't bradley here for the recent down years?

I think I remember the plane being in Oklahoma at the time and it wasn't too interview a Stoops.

If the new coach wants him fine. To me he is a member of the staff on a program that was trending downward and didnt get it turned around. That doesnt give me much confidence to keep him but those closer may know something else that I dont.

Bradley is one of the best recruiters in the country and works his ### off! A combination of Monte Lee and Bradley Lecroy will be the foundation of one of the best staffs in the country! The juniors from this year were his first recruiting class and 7 of these members were drafted with 4 in the top 6 rounds so he has done a great job recruiting with many disadvantages vs his competition. It is a no brainer for Monte Lee!
