What's the worst food you eat on a regular basis?
Oct 17, 2012, 10:30 AM

I was thinking the other day bout the crap I used to eat growing up and how awful it occasionally was.
During the summers I'd work for my dad in his contracting biz - generally manual labor.
It was pretty normal for lunch for us to hit a gas station/convenience store near where we were working and eat vienna sausage or potted meat with saltines and a sun drop or mountain dew. Occasionally I'd get some beef jerky or a moon pie as well.
Any of you ever eat this crap or something similar?

My crappy food intake will likely pick up next summer - given that Durham's is a Mecca for all things with a shelf life of 100+ years.

In college I would eat Burger King just about everyday. Just couldn't get enough of those onion rings. And Pizza Hut pizza, we would destroy that too in college.

We had a kickass viewing party of the Orange Bowl that night, and we were all worried that they would have the camera on some drunk Clemson people whoopin' it up. The opening shot was of a Nebraska fan with two ears of corn taped to his head, and we all went "Whew!".

totinos deal and eat them both for supper. Really 1.5 would have done the trick but the last half was pretty useless for anything else.
The last time I had one of those G&W styles, the Gamecocks got embarrassed in Atlanta, then I went to the company Christmas party.

grew up taking saturday fishing trips with vienna sausages, beanie weenies, sardines in mustard sauce, saltines, and bologna or salami sandwiches with "sandwich spread". Also worked construction and it was a treat when we could break away long enough to go to the black gas station in North Columbia and get chicken livers and gizzards smothered in Texas Pete hot sauce. You have to chew those gizzards for like 2 minutes to break 'em down, and sadly, I still like them.
Now I'm a foodie... life has changed alot, but I remember where I came from.

I justify by saying it chicken, therefore it's good for me. But if I place if having $0.50 wing night, I'm there! Fried extra crispy please!
Living here is good and bad. There aren't many places to go out and get a 'nice' meal, so unless you want $1 slice pizza or wings, you have to fend for yourself. So I eat in most days. Unless it's wing night! Or Free pizza night at the bar down the street. It's free, man. I can't turn that down.

Maybe a little tabasco or texas pete on there too. A little cream cheese if I'm feeling like a 1%er.
Did 'em one time with cream cheese and steak sauce, but I was drunk and I don't think I'll repeat that.

when I was out huntin' or fishin' or when I was a hard chargin' young forester.
About the only nasty thing I eat these days is the occasional mustard packed can of sardines with Ritz crackers...
whole wheat of course.
The family can't stand to see me eat it, so I only do this when I'm fishing or out in the woods where I can't hear them yowling.

Even though it was horribly bad for me, I quite often had a "free meal" of roller good (taquitos/hot dogs, etc) and some variety of chips and topped it off with fountain coke

I spent nearly every day for two months working in the middle of the desert, with nothing within half an hour. Beef jerky and bottled water, all day, ever day

I seem to always pick up some Zebra Cakes or Oatmeal pies when at the store just to have around the house. When I'm running late in the morning (which is often) that's my breakfast in the car.

General Tso's Chicken, and tacos.
Back when I worked at the Watergate, they had this slammin' chinese place in the food court area. I'd get that probably 3/4 times a week.
No wonder how I went from 180 to 215 in a flash.

When I was a kid (1960's), I loved butter and sugar sammich on white bread!
Note: I said butter and not peanut butter.
